4 Ingredient Carrot Apple Bread (Vegan + Refined Sugar Free)
This is a delicious and easy bread to make in a pinch with just some self rising flour, applesauce, cinnamon and finely shredded carrot. With only four ingredients you cannot go wrong. The bread has an amazing crusty exterior and a soft and yummy interior. Its slightly sweet with just the unsweetened applesauce as a sweetener. This is perfect for something to snack on or for a quick breakfast with some honey and tahini!
If you don’t have self rising flour, you can make you’re own homemade self rising flour as outlined in the recipe box below. I added walnuts in mine and loved the crunchy texture. Toss in raisins or chopped dates for some added sweetness.

Delicious! I love it toasted with a drizzle of almond butter and honey. Stella, your recipes are amazing! Thank you so much-I’m already down 6 pounds since I started using this website!
Love it, will make it again. I added dates and a few TBS of swerve (zero calorie sweetener). It was great plain but I’ve also eaten it with light butter and SF maple syrup…amazing.
I found this bread to be very bland, even though I trippled the spice and added stevia. The texture was kind of gummy. It did rise well. The carrots didn’t add anything, in my opinion.
Excellent recipe! Just made it with King Arthur gluten free 1:1 flour and it came out great. I even added a little grated sweet potato and sunflower and pumpkin seeds. I wanted something healthy to spread sunflower butter and fruit spread on and this fits the bill perfectly! Thank you!
Hi Tonya, YES this bread is perfect for that! Thank you trying out the recipe and coming back to leave your kind comment!
Looks delicious. Do you think I could use sweetened applesauce rather than sugar if I want to add some sweetener to it?
Hi Rita, Yes that will work too!
Delicious! I added 2 TBS since I live at altitude.
