Easy Cottage Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies
These yummy cookies are easy to make and high in protein so bring on seconds!
I saw these cottage cheese cookies on EatingBirdFood.com and knew I had to try them! There are made with only 7 ingredients, high in protein and turned out so delicious! Yes, they are kid approved too!
I really enjoyed the vanilla protein powder in this recipe because it adds flavor AND extra protein to the recipe! So if you don’t have vanilla protein powder, you can sub in oat flour or more almond flour. I would also add a tablespoon more maple syrup to account for the change of flavor as well.

Cottage Cheese Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup vanilla protein powder
- 2 tbs coconut oil, melted
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350℉ Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small food processor or blender, add the cottage cheese, maple syrup and vanilla – pulse until smooth. Transfer that mixture to a large bowl and mix with the almond flour, protein powder and coconut oil until combined. Lastly fold in the chocolate chips. Best to use a cookie scooper to form. your balls. Place them on the baking sheet and press down to flatten. Add some more chocolate to the tops (if you like) and bake until the edges are golden brown – about 13-15 minutes. Allow them to set on the baking sheet for a few minutes then transfer to a cooling rack.
Notes
I use 4 % milk fat cottage cheese – the brand is Organic Valley.
If you don’t have vanilla protein powder, you can sub in oat flour (or more almond flour and a few tbs coconut flour).
You can use any neutral oil, like avocado oil or olive oil instead of the coconut oil.

Love allll of your recipes!!! Can I sub coconut flour for almond flour and use less?
Hi Stella, love your recipes. Ive just made your Lemon Garlic Greek Yogurt marinated Chicken with your traditional Greek salad, husband loved them, about to make your Easy Vegetable pie, which no doubt will also be great.
Just wondering for these cookies could Maca powder be used instead of protein powder? If so would it be the same amount?
Just made these and they turned out great! But how do I store them?
HI Starlyn, i love your name btw! I stored mine in the fridge!
what would happen if I left out the oil?
I used “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Spread” and had to add another melted tablespoon bc mixture was dry… but they came out great!
Followed your recipe exactly but had to sub date syrup as I was out of maple syrup. They were easy and amazing. I took one bite and started a second batch immediately. Thanks for the recipe.

Are these low FODMAP cookies?
Can I sub chocolate protein powder for the vanilla or will that be “too much”?
Hi Michael, no, i think it would work out really well with chocolate protein powder!
I just finished making these cookies. Absolutely delicious and really easy. My batter made double the amount but it’s probably because I had a smaller cookie scoop. Should these be stored in the fridge?
Hi Marie, Yes i advise storing them in the fridge. I’m really happy you liked the cookie recipe!
