Flourless Banana Chocolate Oat Bread
My family and I love this bread so much. It just tastes so hearty (because of the oats) and yummy thanks to the banana and chocolate, of course. So when it starts to get warm out, we tend to gravitate away from the hot bowl of morning oats and we make this deliciousness.
So many variations here, you can use all natural creamy peanut butter or sunflower seed butter instead of the almond butter. You can use any sugar you have on hand too. You can also omit the chocolate and add in walnuts instead. If you like this recipe you will also like my Healthy Banana Oatmeal Bread or my Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Oatmeal Banana Bread.

Flourless Banana Chocolate Oat Bread
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 2 medium ripe bananas
- 1/4 cup almond butter or peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350° F. Line a 9×5" loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Using a food processor or blender, first grind up your oats until they resemble a flour consistency. Next add in the bananas, almond butter, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Process until smooth. Toss in your chocolate and mix with a spoon. Transfer your batter to the pan and top wit a few more chocolate chips for aesthetic. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. I LOOSELY covered mine with foil the last 10 minutes because it was browning rapidly.
- Allow to cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes prior to slicing.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for 5 days on your counter.
- Use any granulated sweetener.
- Use nut or seed butter like peanut butter.
- Use dairy free chocolate chips to make this dairy free.
Delicious!
I made this with a brown sugar substitute and chopped 70% dark chocolate and it came out really well.
Not too sweet and a lovely texture.
Thank you

If I used oat flour instead of grinding oats, how much would I need?
Will this work?
This has been by far the best healthy cake I have had!! Thank you!!! I substituted honey for the sugar listed. I did not need to add any more dry ingredients, the moisture level in the cake was perfect! I did add some extra Stevia in, only because my chocolate chips are not sweetened, and I’m having a really difficult time with that… Everything about this was perfect! I’m going to try changing it up with the walnuts and raisins that were mentioned elsewhere just for a variety. But it’s wonderful! Thank you so much. !!!
This is so yummy! I had 2 bananas and was too lazy to make banana pancakes so made this instead #noregrets. It’s fantastic! I added a sprinkle of turbinado sugar on top for the crunch and the “aesthetic” reasons. Will definitely make again. Thank you!
Wondering if you could leave the oats whole and not blend them?
is the nutrition info a typo? 56 calories can’t be right, right? recipe looks and sounds amazing though. can’t wait to try it out!
So amazing…my picky mom and husband loved it! I added walnuts and pecans. So delicious. 2nd time making it in a week and a half.
Can I use regular butter instead of almond butter
Hi! This sounds wonderful; do you know if anyone has successfully subbed anything for the eggs? TIA!
Hi! Love this! Can I use dates or honey instead of coconut sugar?
This was simply delicious. I did find the ripe banana too sweet so I added cocoa powder. The outcome was amazingly chocolaty! 😋
