Healthy Banana Oatmeal Bread (5 Ingredients)
I’m always on the lookout for quick simple snacks that require very few ingredients that are all whole and you probably already have in your kitchen. This definitely hits those spots.
I’m going to greatly stress to you that this is not a traditional banana bread recipe. As you can tell from the ingredient list, it contains a very minimal amount of sweetener. If you would like a traditional banana bread recipe, please check out my delicious Super Moist Banana Bread. You will not be disappointed.
What you can do, is toss in sugar free chocolate chips, nuts, raisins or seeds to add some flavor. To finish this snack off, I like to serve it with some almond or peanut butter spread on top. Again, this is a protein and nutrient dense snack. And comes together so quickly in your blender or food processor. You can also use oat flour and mix the ingredients in a bowl.

Healthy Banana Oatmeal Bread
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 medium bananas, over ripe
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey)
Optional Add Ins:
- 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 cup chocolate chips, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, 1/2 cup chopped dates or raisins
Instructions
- PLEASE NOTE: This is not a traditionally sweet banana bread. There is minimal sweetener used here. This is a healthy breakfast or snack.
- Preheat oven to 350° F and line a 9×5" loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Add all of the ingredients, in the order above, to your blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Mixture will be liquidy and that's okay.
- Pour the batter into your pan and bake for around 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out mostly clean. Allow bread to cool in the pan at least 20 minutes prior to transferring to cooling rack. And then allow to cool another 20 minutes prior to slicing.
LOVE this bread! I did not add anything additional, just enjoyed as is. I actually prefer a snack that is not too sweet, so this was perfect. I like it so much better than a basic banana bread.
Hi Kathy! I feel the same way! Glad you enjoyed it too! Thank you for the review!
Hello Stella,
Is it okay to add water or vanilla milk or almond milk to the mixture? How much measurement?
I don’t think that would work here!
How many serving is in the 1 loaf?
8 servings, in the recipe description (look at the top)
Can I use baking powder instead of baking soda?
Love this with my tea in the morning for a light breakfast. Not to sweet which is great!
Hi Carol! I’m the same way – I like my breakfast breads to be lightly sweet!
Hi Stella,
I followed this recipe exact same but maybe I blended the ingredients too much and it was liquidy so the inside wasnt baked properly. The taste was amazing but I had to throw it away as the more I kept it in the oven, the outside burnt.
Thanks
Hi Cookie, I’m so sorry it didnt work out! If i need to bake something extra time, I cover it LOOSELY with tin foil. Hope that helps!
This banana bread recipe is amazingly simple and so delicious! Will try to add next time nuts and chocolate chips. But this basic recipe is going to my recipe book to do very often. Thank you!
Can I use 1 minute oatmeal?
Made this today for my family as a quick breakfast. It is so tasty and so moist! I added some cinnamon and nutmeg for a little spice and it was amazing!
Hi I wanted you know if I can try quick oats?
I did, and it was fine!
This banana bread was simple to make and so delicious!! Will add some chocolate chips or walnuts next time, this is going to be my go to banana bread. Thank you for the recipe!
Hi Matena, I’m happy you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for leaving the review!
can I sub yogurt or Greek yogurt for the eggs ?
So easy!! And definitely a crowd pleaser for Adults and children🤌🏻
I used half a cup unsweetened applesauce as substitute for the eggs, and it worked beautifully
Made this !! Tastes so good !! My bananas were overripe and I only has about 1 tbsp of honey – but this needed nothing else. So nice not to have it over sweetened.
Cooked for the exact amount of time too.
So easy to follow – super easy to make.
So so good.
Thanks for sharing – this is my new go to recipe
Hi! Do you use the same amount of oat flour that you would use for the oat meal (2 cups)?
HI Gail, I would do 1 1/2 cups oat flour for the 2 cups oats.
Can you use steel cut oats?
Hi Linda, might require more liquid with steel cut oats.
what kind of liquid?
Would I be able to add protein powder? if so, howw much would you suggest?
BTW….I looove your recipies. thank you.🙏
Hi Terrie, I think 1/4 cup should work here.. please let us know what happens and thank you for the support!!
Can this be made in an air fryer?
I made this today after seeeing your TikTok video. Mine turned out chewy and dense. I. Your video it looks like you used 1tbsp of B.soda. In your recipe it says 1tsp. Could this be why mine did not turn out as dry and loose as yours? Can you clarify on the baking sofa amount please 🙂
Hi Christy, Its definitely 1 teaspoon baking soda – I double checked the video and know that spoon well. I’m so sorry it didn’t work out well for you!
Mine was also too chewy and dense! I followed exactly the recipe. But it didn’t work. The reason may be the oat type? I think if using fresh yeast might be better.
Making this today! Such an easy recipe, excited about it. Has anyone made it with cocoa power? Can I make chocolate bread with this recipe?
Oh that sounds great! I will add Coconut shreds the next time.
Mine too, I don’t know what I did wrong 😔
Can you substitute the eggs?
HI Karen, haven’t tried any alternatives, I’m sorry. Flax could work here!
Could you use flax egg instead of eggs to make it vegan?
Hi Mary, Flax eggs should work here. I havent personally tried it with this recipe but ive used flax eggs before and they work every time!
I have just made this (adding a few nuts and cinnamon to the recipe) absolutely delicious!
HI Nicky, glad you liked it and thanks so much for the kind rating!
Hi. Is this freeazable?
Could this work with bananas that aren’t overripe yet?
Yes definitely!!
should you refrigerate it ?
Yes you can !
Amazing! Simple, healthy and delicious. I have made it 3 times in 2 weeks. The family loves it. Thank you!
Great recipe. Made a batch. Came out beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Love more easy healthy recipes like this.
Hi Sylvia, glad it was enjoyed and I plan on definitely sharing more healthy dishes! Thank you!
This bread was delicious. I made 2 loaves. I put 1 packet of truvia to add a bit of sweetness. Thank you. It was so easy to make. Will definitely be my go to banana bread recipe!!
Hi Laura, glad you tried it and thanks for sharing your versions with us!
This has no business being so tasty when it’s so easy to make! Absolutely delicious, I followed the recipe but also added 1/4 cup vanilla protein powder and sprinkled the top with sunflower seeds and cinnamon before popping it into the oven. Thanks for another winning recipe, Stella!
Is the nutritional value per serving??
HI Omar, yes per serving!
Delicious 😋
Healthy is the word. I did like the bread. I added Lilly’s Chocolate Chips, dark chocolate. No sugar added. I used a regular blender. So I found the consistency with mind not as smooth as I would have liked or it should have been. My chest to the mix was 3 package of sweet and lie, which I do believe helped bring a slight sweetness to the bread. By no means is it sweet. It reminds me of a bread that could be accompanied with tea or coffee. I will do this one again too, but with a different mixer. Not bad at all
Just made this and it turned out pretty good. Adjust the ingredients a tiny bit. No honey or syrup, instead added a 33g scoop of vanilla protein powder as it’s already sweetened with Stevia. I added the optional vanilla extract, also added 30 g of flaxseed mill, and 28 g of semisweet chocolate chips. Came out a little dense but moist enough to heat up and add some almond butter 😄
Delicious!
Hi Javier, glad you enjoyed the bread!!! And thank you for sharing your feedback with us!! Cheers!
looks nice and delicious. would it be OK to bake in air fryer?
Hi Alexandra, yes, will work in the air fryer
You are one amazing woman. I love all your recipes and how easy you make it. Thank you!
Thanks so much for the kind message!
Simply delicious. Made a few tweaks. Added nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. Included vanilla, walnuts and raisins. Blended old fashioned oats to make “oat flour” and added to wet ingredients in a bowl. Finally used muffin pan instead of loaf pan. Definitely will be making again. Thank you.
Hi Dee, glad you tried it and liked it! Thanks so much for sharing your tips on the recipe!
I only have 2 bananas! How would I modify the recipe?
I made your banana oat bread today and have to say how pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I found it to be the perfect level of sweetness although I did add 1/2 cup of dates. I also took your suggestion and added vanilla and cinnamon as who doesn’t love that combo when baking!! This recipe is definitely a keeper. Thank you Stella.
Hey Paula, sounds amazing with dates- my favorite add in by far!
Love love this recipe. One Q is it ok to freeze and for how long ?
Hi Ivana, yes you can freeze for up to 3 months! Thank you !!
Decided to make this after seeing your TikTok video and was very pleased! Super easy to make and took no time at all, was curious to know if you what peanut butter spread you put in it though?
HI Claire, I use Trader Joe’s all natural peanut butter. Salted. The only ingredient is peanuts (and salt).
Can I use quinoa flour instead of oats ?
Hi Lotica, it should work out with quinoa flour!
This is SO good. We enjoyed a slice this morning. i used honey that has a low glycemic index. We put a little peanut butter on top. Delicious. Thanks.
Hi Nan, thank you for trying out the banana bread!
How do you store this? In the fridge or on the counter in a container?
Hi Jaime, I store this on my counter in an airtight container!
Perfect, thank you!
Made this and love it! Was wondering if anyone has tried adding blueberries???
Hi Brooke, definitely go for the blueberries with this!
hi would the recipe be effected if instead of using honey i use apple jam? thank you
Hi Miriam sounds like it will work to me!
This was awesome. Made as per your directions. Added vanilla, cinnamon and some nuts. Love that it is not too sweet. Thanks so much, it will be a staple in our house.
HI Debbie, glad you tried it and liked it! Thanks for sharing your experience with the bread!
Lovely!!! Just baked one!!
HI Rex, glad it was a winner for you! Thanks for the rating!
please can you tell me the conversion from cups to grams? many thanks
HI Sarah, they are listed on the post, just click on the toggle that says METRIC in the recipe box. Enjoy!
I am vegetarian. What can I substitute egg with?
Flax egg should work or 1/4 cup applesauce
Delicious and healthy! Loved it.
HI Gaby, thanks so much for trying it and the kind rating!
This recipe has me feeling like I discovered treasure! Thank you for sharing this with the world, it’s definitely going into my recipe book!!
HI Lane, I know what you mean! I feel the same way!
Delicious. My husband smelled it coming home from work and was so excited to try this bread. Then he said, “It’s really good and it tastes almost healthy too!” Nailed it. I added the cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla, and some chopped pecans. So yummy and easy. Can’t wait for today’s slice!
Hi Charisse, your version sounds heavenly! Glad the hubby enjoyed too!
Mine looks nothing like the photo :/ . Toothpick came out clean and I left it in the pan. But it went flat as it cooled and when I cut into it looks dense and gummy.
Hi Irene, i’m so sorry it didnt work for you!
The same. Had a good rise then flat.
Love the flavor, but mine keeps turning out ‘rubbery’ on the sides…I’ve tried cooking it less…I’m down to 35 minutes, and may try 30 minutes to cook, next time.
so simple, and tasty
Hi Robyn, thanks for trying it!
Soooo good
Hi Jennifer! Thanks for trying the loaf out!
you sure know how to make fast & delicious snacks!
Hi Diana, I enjoy it very much! Thanks for trying out the recipe!
AMAZINNNNNN!!! Keep the recipes coming. Thank you
HI Mel, thank you so much – glad it was enjoyed!!!
It came out totally amazing! I added a handful of walnuts and some dried plums and apricots. Thank you for the recipe! 😘
HI Krista, that sounds delicious with your add ins!!! thanks for sharing with us!
Hello Stella,
Is it okay to add water or vanilla milk or almond milk to the mixture? How much measurement? The reason I asked, is because the mixture is thick without water or some healthy form of liquid.
Hi Isreal, I would not add any liquids to this recipe – would make it soggy!
SCRUMPTIOUS 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️😍Excellent Recipe – Thank You 🙏
HI Chris, glad the loaf was enjoyed! Thank you!
Hello Stella,
I loved the not too sweet taste of this but my loaf was dense and rubbery- and partially uncooked. It calls for baking soda but I thought baking soda needed an acid to help rise and baking powder already has acid in it. Do you think that might be the problem? Or maybe I blended too long?
I love your recipes. Greek food is on of my favorites!!
Hi Lisa, This is definitely a sensitive non traditional recipe. If the loaf comes out too rubbery for me, I simply slice and toast it and enjoy it that way. You can definitely add 1 tsp lemon juice for the interaction with the baking soda to rise. Its up to you! Thank you so much for the kind message and your feedback!!
I only have quick oats. Will this work?
HI Rhandi, yes will work but i might add a smidge more
What are net carbs per slice?
I love this recipe as it gives me a healthy way to use up my ripe bananas. As noted, this is not sweet and I would recommend adding additional sugar and or honey or maple syrup. The beauty about this recipe is that you can add fruits, nuts, etc to your liking and it will turn out delicious. It’s a healthy, easy and flexible recipe, try it out!
HI Mitzi, I agree, its an amazing and healthy way to use up your ripe bananas and the add ins are endless! Thanks for trying it out!
can I sub apple sauce for honey?
Hi Pati, yes should work here
Hi, I wanted to try this recipe after watching tiktok video. Just wanted to make sure, is there no oil in the recipe?
Hi Ibi, yes as written in the box above. The banana takes care of it!
love love love this recipe …. so easy and yummy!!!
HI Rose Marie, glad you liked the loaf! Thanks for trying it!
Hi Stella
so I tried this dreamboat recipe as I do not like anything with sugar
I placed mine in my Air fryer and adjusted the temp and time accordingly and voila it was delicious. thank you for this recipe and I will keep doing this regularly 😎👍🏿💯
HI Seti, that’s awesome! Im glad you tried it and enjoyed your method! Also thanks for sharing it with us all !
no liquids? I add a bitt of almond milk to make it a bit liquity…
Love, love, love this! Can’t wait to have more rotting bananas! I did add a bunch of blueberries. Even my 15 year old sweet tooth kid loves it
Hi Steph thats the best compliment every – glad your 15 year old enjoyed!
so easy to make and delicious!!! TY!
Hi Heather! glad you liked it!
This is one of best Banana Breads’ I’ve ever had. I used only half the sweetener of the ingredients as ultra ripe Bananas were used. I did add Walnuts and Chopped Dates.
It is satisfying on it’s own, or with butter or Peanut Butter. It delicious without the sugar spike that other versions give me.
Will be a weekly regular in our kitchen from now on.
Thank you!!
Hi Louise, That’s awesome and i’m so glad its a perfect fit for you! ENjoy in good health!!
This was so easy and delicious! I added a little vanilla, cinnamon, and chocolate chips. LOVE that it doesn’t use flour/contain gluten or cane sugar.
HI Jen, thank you so much for giving it a try and sharing your feedback!
l really enjoy this quick and easy recipe. I added 10 dates, omitted the maple syrup/honey. it was perfect, yummy.
HI KEEN, sounds amazing with the dates and thanks for sharing your feedback!
so delicious added dark chocolate chips yummy
Hi Helen, love it with the dark chcolate!!!!
excellent. I love it
Hi Perry, glad you liked it and thanks for the rating!!
Simple recipe and delicious too.
My issue is the finished baked end product shrinks are it cools down.
I wonder why?
HI Victor most of these flourless, healthy breads do that, the ingredients arent as glutenous and don’t hold their shape well unfortunately!
I love all your recipes! They all look so scrumptious and very colorful. I am wheat sensitive and many of your recipes really fit the bill with lots of veggies and fruits. Thanks and bring on more!!!
Hi Kandy, thanks so much for the sweet message and I’m glad the dishes are resonating with you!
delicious, but 40min is way too long! I had a feeling that would be the case and took mine out in 28min. It was perfectly done and even the edges started browning. I imagine leaving it in much longer would make it too dry. I also added Dark Ghirardelli chips + Walnuts and cut the Maple syrup in half.
HI Angelique, glad you liked the loaf and it sounds delicious with your add ins! Keep in mind that every oven is different – some stronger and others weaker!
Just made it and will definitely make it again. So delicious 😋 thanks for sharing ❤️
Hi Fatma, YAY! glad you enjoyed!
Do you use the blender for the oats or just put them in whole? Thank you
Hi Lori, put them in whole and they will get taken care of in the blender with the other ingredients!
I tried this bread and I’m loving it the banana taste, the cinnamon every thing was just perfect
Thank you so much 💙 💙
This is so easy and excellent. The bananas can’t ripen fast enough for the next loaf. I do add the extras…chopped dates so far. I’ll try the raisins soon. Highly recommended.
Yum! Kids didn’t even want to let it cool down. Will definitely make again and again and again.
This is, without a doubt, the best banana bread I’ve ever had! It is so moist and flavorful. I added chopped dates and almonds but just a bit…the banana and oats are what made this recipe so good. I don’t think it needs any added sweetener, either. I used maple syrup (not the other suggestion of honey) but I may try the honey next time. There will be a next time making this banana bread.. Thank you so much for an easy, delicious recipe!
Thank you for sharing this great recipe! I just made it and it tastes amazing! I added some milk as my blender was having a hard time. I also added some chocolate chips and it gives just enough added sweetness. Will definitely make this again.Thank you!!
Hi! I have been looking for a banana bread recipe for a while and I came across yours through Youtube, which brought me here. I LOVE your site and recipe print/adjustable in ALL kind of ways measurements …. etc
I have not tried the recipe yet, but I had to comment to say thank you and amazing job on the ease and creativity that you are applying here. Fantastic!
Awesome
Can I substitute something else for the bananas? Thank you.
Hi Allyson, you can do greek yogurt, pumpkin puree or sweet potato puree!
can’t wait to make it .I will be adding nuts to it.
Hi, could you use almond flour instead of rolled oats?
thanks, Shanna
It was amazing! Better than I expected. Not too sweet, very spongy and not dry at all. Has a nice flavor. You can whip this up in 5 minutes if you have some unannounced guests.
Note: I baked it for 10 minutes longer, be it my oven, or not enough oats in my recreation (I don’t have the standardized cup measurements). I folded in some raisins and chopped walnuts. Served with peanut butter and honey, and some tea!
so easy to make
I made this and loved it! Very healthy and delicious and so easy to make. Thank you for sharing
I made this twice. First time my bananas were not quite ripe enough so I could have cooked it a little more. Second time it was much better as O used really ripe bananas. I added vanilla and walnuts too. I really like this healthy snack. I want to try freezing it. I will also try pulsing my oats a little longer as well to see how that might be.
Oh my gosh I just made your banana bread recipe and it is swoon-worthy delish. I made the basic recipe plus walnuts, vanilla paste, raisins, and cinnamon, per your additional suggestions. Wow! The texture and taste are amazing plus my home smells heavenly. 😍😍😍
I made this last night, and was super impressed with how it turned out! So fast and easy (my favorite way to cook). I added 1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips, and 1 tsp cinnamon. Fantastic!
Hello. Is it possible to substitute half almond flour for half the oats?
I made this added semi dark chocolate chips and walnuts mixed by hand old fashioned oats so delicious am making this again for my 4th July treat thanks for sharing
Love the flavor and cook time was perfect but it fell so flat. I’m at 6800 ft. Should I do something different?
I made this last night, didn’t blend until smooth, but is still amazing, my 8 year old loves it. I added walnuts and cinnamon.
I’m onto my 2nd time making this delicious banana bread within a week. My whole family love it and so healthy.
Hi Jennifer, So awesome its a winner with the whole family! Thanks for trying it!
Can I use GF oats?
yes!
Yummy and so naturally sweet!
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing recipe. My family loves it so much and I make it often for them. Please post more of healthy easy recipes. Once again, thank you very much!
I’m so glad I came across this video on Instagram. I made this healthy banana bread for my husband and I and we love it. Thank you so much! I’ve made the cottage cheese bread, zucchini bread and the are super yummy.
easy to make and tastes amazing.
I freeze my bananas that are very ripe for smoothies etc.would frozen bananas work? Thaw first?
Hi Leesa, i havent tried it, should work but i am concerned with the moisture level only. But I would try it
Made this banana bread. I followed the recipe and it came out fantastic!
HI Cathy so glad you liked it! Thank you for the rating!
Hi Stella
Can you use frozen bananas?
Thank you
Gina
so simple but so tasty…. thanks for a great recipe.
I added walnuts and some raisins . Found the sweetness level perfect for us. I plan to slice and freeze individually so I’m not tempted to eat it all.
Hi! I found your page by accident, but I’m glad I did! 😊 I made this recipe, but I added cinnamon, nutmeg and a little chopped walnuts and used muffins tray. I love it!
I’m excited to try other recipes too!
Welcome Stella! Glad the recipe was to your liking! Thanks for tryng it out!
Amazing! My new favourite way to make banana bread. i added in cinnamon, walnuts, and sultanas. Sooooo good. I cooked it at 175C and it cooked in 30min
Hi Stephanie, Fantastic! Thanks for sharing your feedback with everyone!
Yum!! I love this recipe. I will keep making it again for breakfast or quick pm snack.
Thanks 🙂
Hi Annia, glad the recipe resonated with you!
baking now! I added a little chocolate chips, blueberries, unsweetened coconut and raspberries!
Hello Lindsey, that combo sounds awesome!
can we sub eggs with flax seeds please ?
Should work great with flax eggs!
I just this morning followed this recipe and added, as suggested, the cinammon and the vanilla. I LOVED it! Not too sweet but the banana flavor shines and it’s a perfect bread for breakfast with coffee. Definitely a keeper. I used GF oats and my daughter has celiac and was thrilled to also enjoy this. Thx!
Hi Christine, so glad your daughter got in on the action! Thanks for trying it out!
This sounds amazing and I’m looking forward to making it… Could I use peanut butter instead of the honey/maple?
The honey or maple syrup is used as a sweetener. Not sure why you would add in peanut butter in its place.
thanks for the recipe, can I use the same quantity of oats if using already blended oat flour?
thank you
1 cup rolled oats equals 3/4 cup oat flour
I love this bread. I get excited when I see a pile of ripe bananas at the store. With traditional sweet breads I feel like I may as well be eating cake, but this is healthy, good, and guilt free. I keep thick slices in the freezer and grab one when I need a quick breakfast. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this recipe
Awesome tip! Thanks for the kind review!
Made it today and the inside didn’t bake properly. However, the outside was and I followed the recipe as it is. I’m wondering if it’s because I used gluten-free oats?!? Or maybe I blended it too much, in your video it looks as though the oats weren’t completely blended. Nonetheless, the taste is amazing.
Hi Trudy, i’m sorry it wasnt to your liking! Gluten free oats shouldn’t make a difference. What I can say is maybe the oven strength differs and you may need a higher temperature or more time. or both.
lovely texture and nice tasting 😋
HI Mel, glad you liked the banana bread!
So healthy and quick to make!
Hi Lisa, Exactly! glad you liked the loaf!
Perfect! Thank you!
Enjoy!
Made this yesterday and added vanilla, cinnamon and chocolate chips. I absolutely loved it! My husband isn’t keen on the chocolate chips, so made it again today with vanilla, cinnamon, walnuts, and raisins. I think I found his favorite lol Thanks for a great recipe!
Hi Lanee, glad you both enjoyed the bread!
My family loved this recipe, even my mom that prefers sweeter banana bread. Thank you!
Hi Aleka, glad it was enjoyed by ALL! Especially mom! Thanks for trying it!
I just finished baking this and it smells amazing! I was wondering what the best way to store is? Will it keep at room temperature for a few days? Thanks! I’m looking forward to trying your other recipes!
Hi Anne Marie, yes i store on the counter in an airtight container – lasts for 3-4 days! You can also do the fridge and it will last for 5 days.
Tried this one today! Wow!! Wow!! Loved it. Such a healthy snack. Also added nuts and dates! ! I had stopped baking because of unhealthy recipes. Started loving it again! Please post more of such healthy recipes!
Hi Neha, I will definitley post more healthy recipes like this one! Thanks for trying it out and your kind rating!
I love this recipe so easy, I make it every week. I used Sweet Freedom natural syrup instead of the maple syrup added cinnamon vanilla essence and blueberry’s, turns out beautiful every time. Thank you
Thanks for sharing your feedback Samantha! Glad you liked it!
Delicious!!!!!! 10/10 recommended! I did add dates, vanilla and nuts to mine
Hi Anna, I love anything with dates!!!
what if I live at a high altittitude would I adjust the measure ments??
Added the cinnamon and vanilla and this came out perfect. Very easy and quick. 2yo and 6yo loved them!
Hi Shala, glad the family and kids enjoyed especially <3
Hi!
Loved the recipe, the cake rose beautifully but when I let it rest it kind of flattened. Not sure what I did wrong 🙁
Waited for 3 bananas to get overripe… and wasn’t sure the bread would come out as good as it looks in the pictures. It turned out great! We like a healthier bread rather than something akin to cake. Added a couple of suggested options in walnuts & vanilla. We’re hooked! Thanks for such an easy recipe.
Hi Deb, glad you liked it and thanks for sharing your version with us! sounds delicious!!
Easy to make. Tastes nice toasted with almond butter and honey. 🙂
Hi Stephanie, I’m glad you liked it! Thanks for trying..
Amazing, loved it so quick to make. Thank you.
HI marion, glad you liked it ! Cheers!
I love the recipe but every time I do it the loaf is nice and raised and the it collapses, why?
This was incredible! I love how healthy it is and my kids devoured it! Definitely a keeper! Thank you Stella! 🙂
Hi Olga, glad you liked the banana bread and thanks for the kind rating!!
Can you clarify something? What sort of rolled oats are you using? I just made this bread and it is delicious, but with just two cups of rolled oats, I am at 1750 calories. For the listed 8 servings per loaf and each serving being 159 calories, you loaf with all ingredients is 1,272 calories. My loaf with nothing special added is 2,400, which means each serving is 300+ calories. Not all that healthy (but still delicious).
Mine say rolled oats and old fashioned. The brand is Bob’s REd Mill and they are gluten free
Your total calories for rolled oats should only be between 600 and 750 (I checked Bob’s, Quaker and 365 brand). The servings are 150 – 180 calories per 1/2 c. and for 2 c. that’s 4 servings. Bob’s was 180. Quaker and 365 were 150.
Very nice recipe my son loved it. He’s gluten and dairy intolerant so nice treat for him (we used GF oats). We added dates and walnuts. Thanks for sharing
Hi Lisa, i LOVE this with dates and walnuts! Glad you both enjoyed the loaf and thanks for the kind feedback!
I just made this as is (used 1.5 cups oat flour) and it’s absolutely perfect. The sweetness is so mild and delicious. Thank you for sharing!
Could you try substituting banana for pumpkin puree to make this a healthy pumpkin bread?
Hi Hannah, that’s coming up next on my website and yes, you can!! thank you for the kind rating and I’m so glad you liked this loaf!
This actually came out soo yummy! I did add some chia seeds and dates to it. I take it to work and have with coffee for breakfast. it is quite filling aswell and keeps you full for quite a while 🙂
Hi Rosheen, thanks for sharing your feedback and I’m so glad it was to your liking!
Tried these today and I love them. Thanx
Hi Jonetan, I’m glad that you made them and loved them just as much as I did!
what size is the loaf pan
its a 9×5 inch loaf pan
this is absolutely Delicious!
I added the cinnamon and vanilla. and I used honey. great recipe!
now my family wants to try it with pumpkin instead of banana….any recommendations?
Hi Phil, I’m working on that recipe now – tried one cup of pumpkin but it was too much and created a soggy texture. Should work with less though if you can’t wait and want to try it on your own. Please let us know if you do! Thank you also for the kind rating!
I made this today and it was quick, easy and delicious. I added vanilla, cinnamon, and dates.
Hi Lisa, Thanks for trying it out and I appreciate your sweet rating or the recipe!
I tried this Banana Bread and it was an absolute delight. Added vanilla, walnuts and few raisins. My next trial will be the 3 ingredient Cheese cake.
Stella, “Love your life”
HI Anne, LOVE that the bread worked for you and you enjoyed it! Thank you for trying out the recipes and your kindness!
Wish I found this a long time ago recipes are great 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hi Louise – better late than never!! So glad you like the loaf tho! And thank you for the kind rating
Love this recipe! We are watching out sugar intake and it is perfect. Thank you.
Great recipe. I made it and loved the texture an flavor. Perfect for me.
I made this into 12 muffins. Only needed to bake for about 17 minutes. Delicious! I will be making this again and again. Thank you for sharing the recipe!
Hello all your recipes are soo yummy 😋 I’m from South Africa following you….
I’m always on the look out for different versions of banana bread and this one didn’t disappoint! It was simply delicious! Easy to bake. The texture and taste came out perfect and was just yummo. My new favourite. 👌
Fell across this recipe by chance and realised I had all the ingredients in the cupboard – so gave it a try to save throwing bananas away. You’re right, it’s definitely not a ‘sweet cake’, but the texture is fab and very moreish, and its great with a brew as a savoury snack. I drizzled my three pieces (!) with a tiny bit of honey – made ALL the difference. Gorgeous!
The sweetness of this recipe is perfect – most banana breads are way too sweet IMO.
I was a little short on oats, so I subbed in some hemp protein powder. I also added vanilla, chopped walnuts, and subbed 1 tsp. miso paste for the salt (trust me!).
It was delicious. Another HH win!
The taste was good, but found the bread to be very dry rather than moist which made it not as enjoyable as other banana breads.
great bread so easy
Made a loaf for breakfast today and it was a huge hit! The only feedback I got from my hectic family was if they could be muffins next time. Would 350 at 15 minutes-ish in a muffin tray be about right?
I’m in GF heaven with this recipe! Added walnuts and it was so delicious, I didn’t want to share!
I made this banana bread today. It’s awesome. Thank you. I follow all your reels.
Holy cow! I forwarded this recipe to my email from my IG account so I could save it on my laptop but now that I’m reading all the amazing reviews with praises of deliciousness & gratitude for this recipe, I feel the need to make it asap!
Just made this, totally gorgeous! 159 cals per what? 100g?
Best banana bread I’ve had without the guilt. It’s healthy and delicious!
This recipe came out great! I added half a cup of Lily’s semi-sweet chocolate chips….perfect for breakfast or a nice mid-morning snack. Anything that uses up my over ripe bananas is a win for me 🙂
Absolutely delicious!! Thank you 🙏🏼 love from Scotland.
Hi,
I made it today and it is soooooo delicious 🤤 I have added some cinnamon. Really great!
Thank you for the recipe.
A lot of greetings from Germany

Love, love, love this bread! Making it as often as we have over ripe bananas.
Very good recipe. I made this and added a a few tablespoons of brown sugar (since my supply of honey and maple syrup was less than what was needed at the time), vanilla and no sugar chocolate chips on the top of it & not in it. The bread has plenty of sweetness for my liking.
This recipe is amazing and so easy. I make 1 to 2 loaves every week. I buy bananas just to make this banana bread, lol
Hi! Can I replace the bananas with pumpkin puree?
We make this spectacular banana bread twice a week. Easy to make and it’s healthy. What better
This is delicious! Anyway to add protein powder to the mix.
This is by far the easiest banana bread ever! I was afraid it would not be sweet enough but it’ perfect!!!!!
Needed a quick recipe for over ripe bananas. I added cinnamon, vanilla and golden raisins. Bread turned out delicious! Even my husband who prefers sweeter and not too healthy foods raved about this bread. Will make again!
Amazing. I added chocolate chips.
I added cinnamon, walnuts, vanilla, and chocolate chips. I baked it the full 40 minutes and it turned out so soft, with some browning on the surface! It smelled amazing and definitely wasn’t sweet, however, it pairs great with sugar free maple syrup!
wow so delicious 🤤 we tried it and we keep and keep doing it. We are adding walnuts and dark chocolate as well…very delicious and easy to make. Our 2 year girl loves it was well❤️ Thanks you and all the best😁
I’ve made this a few times (always adding 3/8 tsp of salt) but today I had to change it up when I realized I was out of maple syrup. Instead I used molasses and since I was changing the recipe, I decided to really change it up. Added 1/2 tsp vanilla plus cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. Wow! I’ll be making it this way from now on
So tasty and plenty sweet for us! I did sprinkle a small amount of brown sugar on the top to give it a nice sweet crust, Delicious!
This is a wonderful easy and very healthy banana bread recipe, I absolutely love it!
Thank you so much for sharing it, it’s my favourite. I tried it recently and have now been making it repeatedly, one baking in the oven right now 🙂
Perfect and easy to make it,τέλειο!!!!
I absolutely love this bread and so does everyone in my family.
Will be in constant rotation. Cannot believe how good it is! I did add the vanilla and a few sugar free chocolate chips.
HI Kate, awesome! Glad you like the loaf!
I like things sweet how much brown or regular sugar should I add?
Hi Cornelia, I havent tried this recipe with sugar, but should work no problems. I would do 1/2 cup to 1/3 cup sugar if you like it sweet! Enjoy!
Stella, as a busy homeschooling mother of 5, under the age of 9 now…I am SO happy I found your website. Your recipes are simple, healthy and easy to attain for my always hungry family. Thank you!
Hi Kaitlin, so glad the recipes are resonating with you and your busy life! I have two kids and cant imagine homeschooling them and 3 more kids to boot! More power to you girl!
wow. i usually hate baked oats as they taste so floury and chewy. this was incredible. i added cinnamon and walnuts. loves it. incredible recipe. thank you
Hi Patrick, glad you liked the banana bread!
I love this banana bread, it’s really good. I’ve been looking for a simple, healthy recipe like this for a long time. It makes me very happy! Thanks Stella!
Hi Lise, thanks for trying it! Glad its a winner for you!
Is this bread better with maple syrup or honey? Also, would adding baking powder help it rise? My first loaf did not rise much.
Hi Emma, i prefer maple over honey personally. Sometimes they loaves fall because the baking soda agent is expired or old. Check the date!
simple, nutritious, so easy to prepare. Love it! it’s ideal for after work out protein intake (I put a tsp of vegan protein in the recipe) and generally as a healthy snack during the day! bravo Stella! Se latreuoume!
Delicious healthy Banana bread well done 👏🏼 👍🏻

Delicious and so easy to make!
I’ve made this recipe from the original ingredients. Can put excellent. Shared it with coworkers, neighbors, they all loved it! I always add the cinnamon, vanilla to this recipe. Tonight I added chopped dates. not a lot. This recipe is a great gift to give out to new neighbors, bring a dish to a social even & share slices with coworkers. 2👍👍 up! 😃
Hi Lizamarie, it sure is! Thats great of you ta share it with your loved ones!
This is my second time making it. I absolutely love it!! I put some sun butter on a slice and eat it for breakfast with some fruit. Lasts me all week for a quick breakfast before heading to work. My coworkers love it too when I make enough to take them some.
Hi Steph, glad you enjoyed the recipe twice! and with your co=workers too! Cheers!
my 2 year old picky daughter loved this! she ate two slices 😍
HI Eda, that makes me smile!
I made this a few times. Always comes out good. Today I made it into muffins instead of a loaf. Turned out really good. I always add 1/4 cup of Swerve brown sugar. Cooked the muffins for 18 minutes.
HI John, sounds awesome! thanks for the kind feedback!
I like this recipe better than traditional banana bread! It was so easy and delicious! I added chocolate chips and walnuts and my whole family (myself included) loved it!
Hi CD! Glad it was a winner with everyone!!
What would directions for muffins?
I would bake for only 18-20 mins
Hi, how much calories is it per serving and how much grams is per serving?
Delicious! Blended the oats into oat flour first and the bread was lovely and fluffy!
Amazing! Glad you enjoyed the bread!
Had some very ripe bananas so I tried this recipe! It is very good. Loved mixing it in the food processor – easy cleanup.
Hello! Do you know the equivalent of the rolled oats if I already blended them? (Oat flour)
Love this recipe. For the oats I used Kodiak Bear Protien Oats, bumped up the protien and very filling. I plan to freeze individual servings for an alternative quick breakfast idea.
How much ist flour would you use instead of oatmeal? Thank you.
Hi Janice, I would do 1 1/2 cups flour
I added two medjool dates to the blender and it added, I think, just enough added sweetener. Delish!
Hi Elaine, that’s a great idea! Thanks for sharing that feedback with us!
This sounds great, I can’t wait to try it! You mentioned using a loaf pan, but not a specific size. Which size do you recommend for this recipe?
BTW, I particularly love your recipes that quickly come together in a blender or processor. SO awesome for clean-up!
Thank you, KC
Hi KC, I’m so onboard with the blender recipes too! Super simple for clean up. For this I used a 9×5 loaf pan but 8×4 would work too. Enjoy!
I used a regular size loaf pan, not mini, and it raised up and filled it.
Can I use thawed frozen bananas in this recipe? oI only have 2 bananas at the moment but have several that are frozen.
If theyre thawed it should work!
