Flourless Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Chip Bars (One Bowl)
The best part of this recipe is that you most definitely have all of these ingredients sitting in your house just waiting to be formed into these yummy treats. This recipe has amazing flexibility because you can substitute the peanut butter with almond butter or sunflower seed butter.
You can also use the maple syrup or honey or agave nectar as the liquid sweetener. I chose to use sugar free chocolate chips to lessen the sweets blow. You cant even taste the difference.
One of the most important aspects of this recipe is to allow the pre sliced cake to cool COMPLETELY! I typically throw this together and bake it at night. Allow it to cool for 15 minutes in its pan and then remove it to cool on a wire rack. About and hour later, I place the whole cake in a large tupper and cover it. I don’s slice into it until the next morning – when it has set perfectly.
There are so many variations to make with these bars. I have created a brownie version in which I incorporate cacao powder. I’ve also created an Almond Joy version, using almond butter, coconut flour and coconut shreds. My favorite thus var.
These rarely last 24 hours in my house because we all are peanut butter and chocolate junkies. I’ve also gotten a lot of feedback from people that have made these. Feedback advises that they work even without the egg. Also have worked with a flax egg to make them vegan. Some have added a little peanut butter flour to firm it up.

Flourless Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Chip Bars
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup peanut butter all natural, room temp.
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1/3 cup maple syrup (or honey)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking soda
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (plus more for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325° F. Line an 8×8" brownie pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash your bananas. Add in the PB, almond flour, maple syrup, egg, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Mix until just combined and then fold in your chips.
- Transfer batter to pan and top with some more chips. Bake for around 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to fully cool prior to slicing. I typically make these at night and allow them to sit overnight in a tupper prior to slicing.
I’m making these for the first time. Can I use All purpose gluten free flour instead of almond flour?
Yes, You can use GF flour here!
What can I use if I am allergic to almonds instead of almond flour. Is there a substitute?
Hey Lorey! This is Stella! You can use oat flour or regular all purpose flour here! Enjoy!
I’ve made this twice in the past 2 weeks, it is SO delicious! What an amazing recipe, always looking for healthy alternatives and they always disappoint, but this one is delicious. I tried putting a bit of flour in the first time I made it because I was skeptical about how it would taste without, but I highly recommend following the original recipe. Thank you so much, now I always have a healthy and super easy sweet snack on hand 🙂
Hi James, SO happy the bread loaf was enjoyed several times! I make it on the regular too for my morning coffee!

Hi Carmen, hope that worked for you! They are so delicious though ! Thank you for the feedback too!
I was looking for a recipe for my ripe bananas and voila I found your tiktok, I baked mine for about 30ish minutes give or take a minute or two more. They came out beautifully 🙂 I put them in the fridge and I hope they’ll be ready to eat soon lol
Hi Ellie, Hope you enjoyed them! They are my favorites!!
Thanks to Tic Top, I found this recipe. DELICIOUS! The:BEST PART is I have found your Web-sight and more DELICIOUS five Star recipes I am anxious to try.
5th time making these. So good. Baked some up last night adding 1/4c almond flour and they didn’t fall apart when I cut into them while they were pretty warm. Yay! Even got busy and left them in the oven almost 10 extra minutes. Guess what? Still moist and delish. I freaking love these.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi Christine! I am also a HUGE fan of these bars… on constant request in my house! Thanks for the review!
Just curious…you said you added a 1/4 cup of almond flour. Isn’t that what the recipe calls for? Or have you baked them before without the flour?
These are DELICIOUS! Do you have the nutrition breakdown?
Hi Stevie! Glad you liked them. I will update that now…
Fabulous flourless bars yesterday because my husband is gluten-free OMG they are fabulous! I made a double batch of them so it fit a 11 x 13 cake pan I will definitely be making these all the time thank you darling🙏🏼♥️
I am sorry my voice text was not working right. These bars are wonderful! I wanted to try them since they are flourless and GF. My family loved them. Will definitely be on the menu allot.
My family just loved these guilt free goodie’s! How best to store ?
Hi Angie, I always store mine in an airtight container on the counter. They should last 3-4 days that way. You can also store them in your fridge to last up to 5 days.
Do the banana absolutely need to be ripe? thanks!
Hello! Yes but it won’t be as sweet. What you CAN do is slow roast the bananas. Peel them and then place them in a preheated 300 degree F oven for 15-20 minutes. This process will bring the sweetness out of the bananas.
Hello I was wondering if you know how many calories are in one slice? Thank you x
I need to know that too!!
These were gone in less than 12 hours in my house 😂😂😂😂 great recipe for the little ones.
Hi Jay, lol glad you all enjoyed! Thanks for rating too!!

Found these on tiktok and tailored them to a paleo version. Definitely the best craving crusher ever! My kiddo doesn’t eat paleo but loves them too! Fast, easy, and super delicious!!!!!
Hi Ima, YESSS these are my go-to when I crave something sweet and yummy. Thank you for taking the time to comment and rate – much appreciated!
what did you change to make it paleo version? would love to try. thanks
Hello, how did you make them Paleo? Thank you, Jen
To make it paleo, substitute peanut butter for almond butter, substitute regular chocolate chips to dairy and soy free chocolate chips, done
I thought followed the recipe exactly but maybe I did something wrong? My bake time ended up being around 35ish mins. The texture is more like banana bread, but it was still delicious!
Hey Lexi, In my experience bake times vary due to differences in ovens, also gas vs. electric, also baking in a metal pan vs. a silicone or glass pan. But I’m really glad you ended up with a delicious treat! Thank you for rating the dish 🙂
These look amazing. Can you substitute a different nut flour? Maybe walnut? I’m allergic to almonds and the hubby is grain free.
Mine turned out exactly like you said your did. But yes, still delicious! 🙂
Okay, just a little confused. Does anyone notice the TikTok version does not contain flour yet this version, which has the same title, does contain flour (almond or oat)? I had to find the recipe on the website since the TikTok version, via Pinterest, doesn’t list the amount of ingredients. I made it with oat flour – still in the oven – but I think they’ll stay together better with the flour.
We thought they were okay. Followed the recipe, but ended up with banana bread with chocolate chips in it. Not bad, but would not make again.
