With only 3 ingredients you can make this delicious snack loaf – using no oil, eggs or sugar.
We really enjoyed the flavor and texture of this bread. If you’re a banana bread lover this loaf is for you. Its not overly sweet and ideal a breakfast or snack bread that you can add a little nut butter to and be on your moist and delicious way!

3 Ingredient Banana Bread
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 cup + 2 tbs banana puree (see notes)
- 2 cups self rising flour
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350℉ Line an 8×4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Add all of the ingredients to a large bowl and combine until smooth – do not over mix. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until top is golden and toothpick comes out clean. Allow to set in the pan for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to fully cool.
Notes
For the banana puree, you have to peel 3 or 4 bananas, add to a blender and pulse for a few seconds. Measure out the amount listed above. I needed 4 bananas pureed in a small blender and used the leftover puree for a smoothie.
If you don’t have self rising flour, simply use 2 cups flour, 1 tbs baking powder + 1/2 tsp salt.

One of the best banana breads I’ve made super moist a no brainer to make someone had given me some self rising flour and I did not know what to make with it and I always have bananas in the freezer
Thanks for a great recipe idea
i’ve made “healthy” banana bread before using ingredients like oats but genuinely, this is the best tasting by far! my pan is a little larger so the outsides were more crispy while the inside was dense (in a rly good way!). really, really yummy, thank you for the recipe! cannot wait to try your other ones 🙂
We used this banana bread for making French Toast. My kids loved it!
I made this today and it turned out great. I used cream instead of milk and added some vanilla essence. The loaf rose well and made a nice bump with a crack in the middle. Very good texture – soft and moist. This really is the easiest banana loaf recipe I’ve come across. Very economical in more than one way: ingredient-wise and effort-wise (maximum output for minimum input). I like the fact that the recipe contains no added sugar as I usually eat my slices of banana loaf with some jam anyway.
Hi Erich, Thanks for trying this out and I’m so glad you shared your tips with us!
Wow amazing recipe, I was doubting that the bread will cook well, because I use gluten free flour + baking powder and coconut milk.
The bread came out beautifully spongy soft!.
Thanks for this easy breeze recipe!!!!
Hi Mylene, That’s awesome and thanks so much for sharing your feedback with the substitutions!
How much baking powder did you use? I want to try this as well with gluten free flour
Do you have these ingredients as metric measurements please?
Hi BB, sorry about that – its usually there! I just updated it! Thank you for alerting me to the omission.
Can you use almond flour or g free flour?
Hi Cris, gluten free all purpose flour should work here even though I’ve personally never tried it.
I’m not sure if almond flour would work though.. you would have to add coconut flour and eggs probably. Completely alters the recipe… Sorry I don’t have more info on it!
Can a different flour be used? Like oat or whole grain?
HI Christine, oat and whole grain flours should work here – although I haavent tried them so I cant say for certain!
