Easy Banana Oat Bread Rolls (3 ingredient)
Stop buying rolls at the supermarket and make you’re own healthier rolls at home using bananas and oat flour! They are beyond simple to make and really softy and delicious. I enjoy mine at breakfast, warmed with some honey and nut butter spread on top.
I really enjoyed these rolls the only thing I must stress is that you use Aluminum Free Baking Powder. This is because the recipe uses 1.5 tablespoons baking powder and its safest to always use aluminum free baking powder, but especially now!
A key tip to these rolls is to use your hands to incorporate all of the ingredients together to form the dough. At first it will feel like the dough is not coming together but keep going until it becomes uniform. I promise it will happen!
The rolls are not sweet so if you want some sweetness I recommend adding a drizzle of honey when serving. That’s exactly how I enjoy them! If you like this recipe, you will love my other roll recipe, my 2 Ingredient Quick Bread Rolls or my Brazilian Cheese Bread.

Banana Oat Bread Rolls (3 ingredient)
Ingredients
- 2 cups + 2 tbs oat flour
- 1½ tbs aluminum free baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1 cup mashed bananas (about 3 small bananas)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350℉. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift in 2 cups of the oat flour, baking powder and salt and whisk together until combined. Add in the mashed bananas and mix with a spatula or preferably your hands, until incorporated. Your dough will be very sticky. Add in 1 tbs of the remaining flour and knead in. Then repeat with the remaining flour. Form a large disc shaped ball and then divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll them into 8 balls, place onto the baking sheet, optionally sprinkle tops with rolled oats and bake for 18-20 minutes or until light golden brown on top.
Notes
- Recipe inspiration from KirbieCravings.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in your fridge. Reheat leftovers to serve. I like these drizzled with some honey.
- If you don’t have oat flour, you can make it using oats and pulsing them in your food processor until they resemble flour.
- MAKE SURE YOU USE ALUMINUM FREE BAKING POWDER, due to the amount used in the recipe.
- Make sure you use gluten free oat flour if need this recipe to be gluten free!
