Healthy Whole Orange Blender Cake
I’m obsessed with the smell and flavor of this cake it does give off Vasilopita cake vibes but I was so thrilled when the oats and maple syrup worked in this recipe to make it healthier for you. The smell though is INSANE!
You can use regular all purpose flour here or gluten free flour instead of the oats. You can also use granular sugar instead of the maple syrup. The flavor will all taste amazing and you will have guests going for seconds for sure. There is absolutely no bitterness from the orange peel whatsoever!
The beauty of the recipe is that any fruit can be subbed in like a large lemon, 2 limes or a pear. I cannot wait to try more flavor for this simple to make recipe. My only recommendation is to stick to ORGANIC fruits since your are using and eating the peels.

I’ve made this cake twice now. I left it in a bit longer the second time around (1 hour) as it was slightly undercooked in the middle on my first attempt.
Hi Susan, thanks for trying it out and your feedback on the recipe.
Would almond flour work instead of rolled oats?
Hi Sandra, I haven’t tried it so i cannot say for sure if it would work
LUV LUV LUV this cake and so did all my guests. Simply delicious.
Just made this last night and it has disappeared by this evening. Thanks so much for such a lovely EASY recipe it was delicious. I may substitute the maple syrup for sugar as maple syrup is so high in calories and sugars. I only had a square pan on hand so the presentation was not as nice as the round pan but it all worked out.
Hi Diane, Bars just as well in my opinion! Glad you enjoyed the recipe!
I look forward to making this! can I use honey instead of maple syrup? I’m not a huge maple fan.
Hi Alex, Absolutely honey is totally interchangable in all my recipes!
Have you ever tried to make this as muffins? What would I need to do different to make this work?
Hi Donna, I havent tried it personally, but in my experience it will work out great! Just cook the muffins in a muffin tray for less time – around 25 minutes
hi , love all ur easy recipes so much❤️ concerning the nutrition facts , the calories is for the slice or the whole cake plz? and what is maple syrub? any other substitutions?
Hi Nour, thank you so much! The Nutritional info is for one piece of cake.
You can substitute maple syrup for honey or granulated sugar
Has anyone made this cake with sugar free maple flavored syrup? I’m looking for recipes I can adapt for sugar free folk. Thx
You could probably use Monkfruit Sweetener in place of the maple syrup or granular sugar.
Hi, I’m always using alternate sugars and I have been using sugar free maple syrup for years, it’s lighter and less sticky. Hope this helps.. enjoy

Wonderful recipe! I make them into muffins with parchment baking cups and my kids and I all love them. I freeze some for later.
I always use an organic whole orange in our blender and it has always been sweet and orangey and never bitter.
I have thought of making muffins as well…did you do anything different? Bake them less etc?
Hi Stella! I just took this cake out of the oven, it is absolutely delicious! Even my husband and son love it! I don’t understand how some people said it was bitter and didn’t turn out good. The taste is delicious and the texture is amazing. Thank you for an awesome recipe! I love all of your recipes, especially the frosting made from avacado, that is amazing! Lol Thank you!
Hi. I saw your video now and Iam already baking it. How do you make the frusting?
Absolutely divine. swapped the maple for sugar as I had ran out. Kids smashed half the cake after dinner, was a family hit. thank you for the yummy recipe.
I have not made this recipe yet. I read in comments that you used plain greek yogurt when another person asked if vanilla yogurt is ok. You said vanilla is ok to use. Do you use nonfat, low fat or whole milk? Would the different fat levels affect the texture of the baking and require adjusting other ingredients? Could you use orange extract in addition to or instead of the vanilla extract. I also often add extracts to icing. What do you think of doubling recipe and putting in bundt pan? I like this recipe. I like orange and the fact that these are healthy ingredients. Thanks for posting.
excellent cake. so easy to make! and moist, fluffy, very subtly orange in the cake itself, and I love the unique ingredients. you definitely can’t taste the pith, and the frosting definitely adds a nice zing of orange to the more subtle flavor of the cake itself.
I am never one to write a review but I came across this recipe randomly on instagram and decided to make it on a whim. Wow this recipe is a hit and will definitely be making it again. Non-cake lovers just ate it. I made it mostly as the recipe states except substituted agave and cashew yogurt since that’s all I had on hand. Thanks for the recipe!
I subbed coconut cream blended with some lime juice and water for the yogurt (dairy allergy). Also added some cardamom. The batter tasted great, now impatiently waiting for it to bake. Thanks for the recipe.
I just made it today. Quick & easy. Tasty!
