Easy Greek Tzatziki Sauce
This tzatziki is the sauce in Greek cuisine you can’t live without. It goes on anything and everything. Its a dip with some pita chips or a topping on your grilled chicken. And the amazing part is that it’s totally healthy and good for you!
Comprised of Greek yogurt, fresh cucumber, red wine vinegar, fresh dill, olive oil, fresh garlic, the absolutely important aspect is that you mix, and then taste to make sure there is enough salt, vinegar etc. Another crucial step is to let the sauce sit in your fridge for at least 30 minutes prior to consumption. This is necessary for the flavors of all of the ingredients to meld and come together. You mustn’t rush perfection!

Instructions
- Gently pat the cucumber shreds with paper towel to absorb as much liquid as possible, but you still want the cucumber to have some moisture to it.
- In a resealable container, mix the yogurt, dill, oil, garlic, red wine vinegar and salt to taste. Lastly fold in the cucumber until combined. Taste the tsatziki and adjust anything if needed.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
I found this recipe on TikTok, and I have never had a more delicious tzatziki! It’s quick, easy and delicious!
Hi Marina, i’m so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the kind message!
where does the cheese come into the recipe
Very Good sauce! I made only half a recipe and had enough extra for another 4 lunches using it as dressing. So fresh and yummy. My husband even liked it and he is not sure that he even likes Greek stuff! LOL Reviewed and made on my Famished Farm YouTube channel.
I finally have a recipe similar to my mother’s that includes measurements! Thank you Stella.
I love this tzatziki recipe, I make it all the time, it’s a family favorite! Thank you! All your recipes are wonderful!
Hi Stella..
I have to remind you that this sauce is not originally Greek. You have copied from Turkish cuisine. As always you hVe copied more dishes from us.And the name oroginally in Turkish is CACİK .This belongs to Turkish cuisine.See you have also copied the name from us:).you just added a letter..:) And you know you can’t do the same so you tried to add vinegar to the sauce. No in original it is homemade yoghurt +Olive oil +garlic +salt and we use dried peppermint not dill 🙂 You need to have changed it otherwise it will be Cacık.But the main ingredients belongs to Turkish Cuisine not Greek.
This Tzatziki sauce is so, so good! I made it to go with the Chicken Gyro and it was delicious. My husband is such a fan of you now and wants me to make more greek dishes. (He was using it for a dip for his tortilla chips too!)
It is originally Turkish .The main ingredients of Cacık(Turkish original name pronounced very similiar) Homemade yoghurt+ garlic+salt+olive oil+dry peppermint
Turkish not Greek.
