Easy Greek Tzatziki Sauce
This tzatziki is the sauce in Greek cuisine you can’t live without. It goes on anything and everything. Its a dip with some pita chips or a topping on your grilled chicken. And the amazing part is that it’s totally healthy and good for you!

Comprised of Greek yogurt, fresh cucumber, red wine vinegar, fresh dill, olive oil, fresh garlic, the absolutely important aspect is that you mix, and then taste to make sure there is enough salt, vinegar etc. Another crucial step is to let the sauce sit in your fridge for at least 30 minutes prior to consumption. This is necessary for the flavors of all of the ingredients to meld and come together. You mustn’t rush perfection!

Easy Greek Tzatziki Sauce

- 10 oz Greek yogurt
- 2 tbs fresh dill, chopped
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 1-2 tsp red wine vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
Instructions

About how many days would you give the tsatziki in the refrigerator before it expires?
Hi Joivon, I would do max 3 days.

Hi Carol! Welcome and I’m SO very happy you liked the dishes you tried! Those are some of my favorites! Cheers!
Hello. Wondering what type of Greek yogurt you recommend. Can I make it with Fage 0 % fat or does it need to be the full fat version?
Hi Marlo! I definitely always use and recommend Fage 5%… it will come out thicker and yummier than the 0%. In a pinch, I will still make it with the 0% if that’s what i have on hand though.
Refreshing and flavorful. Another favorite from hungry happens.
Hi Hilster! I’m SO happy to read that! Glad you liked the Tzatziki sauce!!

Even with some Bulgur 1/4 cup
Hi from the UK. My bf struggles with raw garlic. Could we use roasted or will it completely change the authentic taste? Thanks 😊
Hi Samantha, I know how he feels! You can sub in garlic powder instead of the raw. Try about 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon. Mix it in, try it and add more if needed.
Good idea – thank you so much 😘
This is so delicious! In addicted! I’ve been eating it with rice and green leaf lettuce and white fish. I love the flavors! I used Fage yogurt and it’s so smooth, creamy, and not bitter. Yum!!!!
I can’t get enough of this sauce! <3

Hi Stella, your recipes are wonderful. However, I have a friend who can’t eat garlic. Any suggestions on what to substitute for all the garlic?
Thank you in advance.
Kerrie from Melbourne Australia
Hi Kerrie and thank you! I would sub in onion powder – about 1/2 tsp to start and then add if you like more ….
Delicious. I always thought homemade tzatziki was intimidating but not anymore. I left the peel on my English Cucumber so it is a bit crunchier but absolute perfection. Such good balance of tang vs garlic vs creamy. I will be making this for everything!
Hi Laura, MMMM love with the skin on! Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! Cheers!

This looks delicious! But, what are cucumber shreds and how do you make them? Thanks!
HI Elisabeth, Just grab a cucumber, peel the skin off with a peeler, and then using a grater on the large hole side, shred it! Super easy – you just need a large hole grater. Ill link the one i use below:

Hi!! I love your recipes!!! Question on the nutritional info for most of your recipes. It’s the tiny bit of trans fat. It’s always there, even in very small amounts. Where is this coming from? Thanks!
First recipe of your I’ve tried, so far so good!
I tasted right after combining everything and, oh my goodness, it is delicious! I’m excited to try it tomorrow. Thank you for the recipe.
Hi, I see olives in the picture but not in the recipe. How come? Thank you.
Hi Pat, its an optional garnish – not necessary for the dip recipe!
delicious. I didn’t have red wine vinegar so used apple cider vinegar, not sure how much it changed the taste but it was good!
Love it!…As I do every recipe of yours that I’ve tried.
Thank you Velda!!
Thanks. Can’t wait to try
enjoy!!!
I know the cucumber must be an important part of recipe, but, would I completely ruin it without it?
Hi Judie, feel free to leave it out. You can use some milk to thin it out a bit if needed.
