Easy Italian Olive Tapenade
Our Greek Olive Tapenade went viral so I jumped back into the kitchen to share my favorite Italian version! This simple to make spread incorporates just a few ingredients but a little goes a long way here.
I highly recommend using Kalamata black olives for this recipe. They are the best black olives for any job but especially one like this where they are the main attraction. The sun dried tomatoes are also a big component of this dish and help to elevate this once simple tapenade to the next level.
Anytime you make dips, salad dressing, etc. I urge you to taste and adjust if needed. Every person’s palate is different and what tastes great to me, may need more salt or sweetness for you. Serve this with fresh crusty bread, pita chips or veggies like celery, carrots or cucumber sticks.

Easy Italian Olive Tapenade
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1-2 tbs balsamic vinegar
- 3 tbs fresh basil, fine chop
- 5 oz sun dried tomatoes, drained + fine chop
- 1/3 cup Kalamata black olives, fine chop
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, finely shredded
- 2 tsp honey
Instructions
- Mix all of the ingredients in a shallow plate until combined. Add more olive oil if you prefer that way. Taste and adjust the balsamic or the honey if needed.
I omit the honey as well loved it!

Should have been 1/2 teaspoon of honey. Too sweet for me. Thought it needed salt & pepper. Was much better after adding a little.

You can use either or here!
