Easy 4 Ingredient Blueberry Bagels (No Yeast)
These easy blueberry bagels offer a delightful twist on classic bagels. They combine the soft, slightly chewy texture with the convenience of a grab and go breakfast. The inclusion of Greek yogurt and buttermilk in the batter contributes to a moist crumb and a subtle tanginess. The best part: only 4 ingredients, no yeast and no laborious kneading required!
The addition of plump, juicy blueberries bursts with sweetness, complementing the mild tang of the yogurt and buttermilk. These blueberry bagels are such a simple throw together recipe and the ideal breakfast on the go.
Frozen blueberries can also be used here. Also you can sub in Kefir for the buttermilk. The egg wash is optional but recommended. I enjoy these with some butter and honey or some cream cheese and maple syrup.
Every flour is different so make sure you adjust the buttermilk if needed. The dough of these 4 ingredient bagels will start out dry but keep mixing and the wet ingredients will incorporate into the dry. Easy 4 Ingredient Blueberry Bagels (No Yeast)
Ingredients
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup buttermilk (or kefir)
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup blueberries
- Optional: egg, lightly beaten
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350℉. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the yogurt and kefir. Next, sift in the flour, baking powder, salt and mix until a dough forms. You may need to add in 1-2 tbs more buttermilk/kefir. Conversely, if the dough is too sticky, add in a bit more flour. Fold in blueberries. Add dough to floured surface and divide into 5-6 balls. Using your finger, poke a hole in the center of each ball and shape the bagel. Optionally, brush the top and sides with egg wash. Bake for 20-25 minutes and then broil 2 minutes or until golden brown – do not walk away from the oven when broiling. Allow to cool before slicing.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container on your counter or in your fridge.
- You can use gluten free all purpose flour here.
- You can make use milk instead of the egg wash to brush the tops prior to baking.

can I replace all-purpose flour with Einkorn all-purpose flour?
HI Juanita, I haven’t tried it with that flour but it should work.
I made mine with Einkorn flour and they were great.
Is it baking soda or powder? You have powder in ingredients list and soda in recipe
Hi Flecia, thank you for letting me know of the error. I’ve gone in and updated the recipe. It should’ve been baking powder.
