2 Ingredient Yogurt Bread
This was clearly a breeze to throw together in a few minutes time. The result is a delicious bread you will have trouble controlling yourself around. The texture is soft and fluffy and the taste is slightly sweet but kind of salty.
I used the brands pictured above. They are also linked in the recipe box below. I have also included the instructions for Homemade Self Rising Flour in the recipe box below. The dough should be sticky and thick. Make sure you incorporate all of the flour into the dough. Make sure you use regular vanilla yogurt – Greek yogurt does not work in this recipe!
Really a great combination I can’t wait to try with other add ins like chocolate chips or blueberries or cheese and olives. I topped mine with tahini and honey and was in heaven.

2 Ingredient Yogurt Bread
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 cups self rising flour
- 1¾ cups low fat vanilla yogurt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375℉. Line an 8×4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Sift your flour into a large bowl. Add to it the yogurt and mix using a silicone spatula until the flour is completely incorporated. Transfer the batter to your pan and spread out evenly with the spatula so that the top is mostly even. Bake for 35-40 minutes. I had to loosely cover mine halfway through the baking because the top was getting too tan. Remove your pan from the oven and allow 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to fully cool.
- If you don't have Self Rising Flour here is the Homemade version:3 cups all purpose flour + 4½ tsp baking powder + 3/4 tsp salt
- Make sure you use regular vanilla yogurt – Greek yogurt does not work in this recipe.
Hi there!
Your recipe looks great! Can I use low fat plain yoghurt instead of Vanilla flavour?
Thank you!
Sonja
Hi Sonja, It will work but I know the taste will change. The vanilla adds this slight sweetness to it that is amazing.
Please let us know if you try it! Thank you!
Can you tell me what brand of yogurt and flour you are using to get 7 grams of protein per serving? Thanks!

Hi Stella. Would you suggest any additional changes if I were to use a gluten free baking powder?
can you plain yogurt?
Hi Fariba sure but the taste will change probably. I haven’t tried it myself…
I only have plain yogurt. Can I add vanilla to it and use in bread
Hi Doris, plain yogurt can be used but it will probably taste different. The vanilla yogurt I used lends a slight sweetness to the bread. Plain will work for texture though… Please come back and let us know how it came out if you try it! Thank you!
I added vanilla extract to my greek yogurt…bread turned out marvelous.

Can I use all purpose flour?
Hi Leti, yes you can.. there is a note in the recipe box that states how to make homemade self rising flour with all purpose flour, baking powder and salt!
Hey there, I followed the directions and used the same ingredients. Mine turned out nice looking on the outside but gummy on the inside. What did I do wrong? Thanks for any feedback.
did you use self rising flour? if not, did you add baking powder to your flour?
Yes, I used the exact ingredients. Self rising flour and low fat vanilla yogurt.
Whole milk yogurt was in the picture.
Not low fat yogurt.
Your flour might have expired?
I had exactly the same outcome as you. While the PICTURE shows whole milk yogurt, the RECIPE calls for low fat. Ugh. My batter was also not nearly as loose as hers. It was a thick dough that I picked up and placed in the pan… maybe the fat in the yogurt?
HI Theresa, either one works in this recipe .. whole milk yogurt or low fat yogurt. Also my batter was thick too.
I used White Lilly self Rising flour and vanilla yogurt. mine was gummy too.
Can I use almond flour?

maje your own glutenfree flour
500gr rice flour, 300 gr potato starch, 200 gr corn starch 1,5 tsp xantam gum. try
I tried almond flour. was crumbly and I didn’t like texture. Normally I use almond flour for everything.
hi, can you use greek yogurt?
Hi Susan, You can use Greek but the texture of the bread will change and could be tougher.
Is it possible to use a higher fat or greek yogurt to give the bread more substance/nutrition?
Hi Linsey, I used whole milk vanilla yogurt. I haven’t tried Greek yogurt but believe that the bread will be tougher with the greek yogurt.
so they’s no need for sugar if u r using self raising flour?
I use this recipe and add 1/3 cup brown sugar, and use Greek Yogurt instead.
Will be too dry, so needs milk to bind.
Same temp + length of time.
Thank you!
i made the recipe exactly according to the directions and mine turned out beautifully moist.
There are specific recipes for yogurt bread using greek yogurt, but they usually contain quite a few ingredients. The moisture content can throw off the consistency and the amount used is always less than the 1.75 c, using regular vanilla yogurt. I haven’t ever tried the Greek, simply b-cuz I love the fact this is only 2 ingredients, so that means way less mess for me when my Granddaughters want to help make “Grandma’s bread”. The first time I made this for the entire family, it was for our Mother’s Day cookout My 5 kids, their 5 spouses and my 9.75 Grandkids. 1 of the little ones claimed and ate an entire loaf of this, so her sister wanted to make a claim and ate an entire bag of ranch rice paper chips that I’d made lol🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. Lil more than bread info here but I can verify it’s a really good bread.
Hi Gena, I love the extra info! That’s adorable! I’m so happy the yogurt bread was a hit with eveyrone!!!
