Crispy Parmesan Carrot Sticks
This is the only way I’m consuming carrots from now on.
These were so delicious and easy to make in under 30 minutes. Simply peel your carrots and slice them into 3 pieces (2 pieces if they’re short carrots). Then slice those smaller pieces in half lengthwise so that each piece has a flat side. Mix up the oil mixture and coat the vegetables in that. You can just as easily roast them like this, but the level up of dipping them in the freshly grated parm is incredible.

Crispy Parmesan Carrot Sticks
Ingredients
- 1 lb carrots, medium or large sized
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 heaping tsp each paprika, chili powder, onion powder + Italian herb seasoning
- salt to taste
- 3/4 cup freshly grated parmesan
Optional Dip:
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425℉. NO PARCHMENT for your baking sheet here.
- Slice your carrots into 3 INCH long pieces and then slice those in half lengthwise so there is a flat side to each piece.
- To a large bowl, add the olive oil, garlic, 1/4 cup grated parmesan, spices and salt to taste. Toss and coat everything with your carrot pieces.
- House the freshly grated parmesan in a shallow small bowl and dip the flat cut side of each carrot into the cheese. Transfer each piece, spaced out, onto the baking sheet, cheese side down. Roast for 20-25 minutes or until tender. Time will vary with the size of your carrot pieces.

Where can I find the recipe for the dip for the carrots?
Hi Lori, its linked in the recipe box. I will be doing a video for it shortly though with its own page!
Parmesan cheese is mentioned twice. Is there supposed to be another type of cheese?
Hi Tina,
Yes, in the oil mixture I used store bought grated cheese, it holds up better. For the last step “DIPPING” into the cheese, I used freshly grated cheese.
Omg! These carrots are so delicious! Made them tonight and was thrilled with how good they came out. I highly recommend.
Hi Sarah, thanks so much for trying out the carrot recipe! Glad it was enjoyed!
can you do these in the air fryer instead?
Why no parchment paper?
Hi Susan, the contact with the baking sheet is what creates the crisp. You can definitely still use parchment and they will still be delicious – just less crispy! Enjoy!
Do you spray the baking sheet first? With non-stick spray?
I did not spray the pan. You can but there is oil in the coating of the carrots and that does the trick!
I did it both ways, cause I didn’t notice the no parchment thing until the first pan went in. 🤷♀️. The parchment made the cheese disappear. The pan made the cheese crispy. Definitely go no parchment.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the parchment! Glad you liked them too!
Would lining the baking sheet with tin foil have the same negative effect?
Hi Jordan, I’m not a fan of aluminum foil but you can totally use it and it should very well!
Thank you. Quick, easy, healthy and delicious! I was led here by tiktok🙂
Hi Tony, glad you came! Thanks for trying the recipe and the kind rating!
Can these carrots be made in the airfryer? If so, what temp and for how long?
400F 8 minutes, flip, another 8 minutes
These were like the best snack i’ve had in a long time. I made a big portion and it was like chips!!! But even better if you can believe that!
Hi Cierra, I literally felt the same way! So glad you tried them and liked them!
it says carbs are 15 but for how many carrots pieces ?
HI Billie, its for one fourth of the dish.
What is the dipping sauce?
Hi Kim, its linked above in the recipe box, but i will link it here too..

These are amazing…total do over in my family
thanks for trying them out!!
very creative!
thanks!!
What other dips would be good with these? I’m making them for a dish to pass at a family dinner and was thinking of having a couple dipping options but wasn’t sure what to go with.
I would recommend my feta dip or avocado dip.. I will link below:

I am so excited to make these for Easter – can they be made ahead of time? Also are they best served hot, warm, cold or room temp? Thank you.
I recommend to serve warm or room tmeperature! So sorry for the late response!
Can these be made a head of time?
Or are they suppose to be served warm?
HI Karrie, I recommend serving these warm or room temp for best experience!
Super tasty and super easy! Found the recipe on FB and roasted carrots are just a delicious treat. Love that prep time is minimal and I can prep the rest of the meal while they cook. Next time extra parm! Thanks!
Hi Shawna, happy you enjoyed the carrots! Thanks so much for the kind rating!
I made these at a large Easter potluck dinner and they were a hit! I overheard many random people giving compliments at how amazing they were. Thank you!
Hi Jess, so happy the recipe was shared with all your friends! Thank you for trying them!
They stuck the baking sheet.:(
I’m so sorry – some of mine stuck in the beginning too but I just scraped them up with my metal spatula! Hope that helps! Or use parchment next time! Thank you!
Do I preheat the oven to 425 with bake? My roast setting only goes up to 400 I guess I’m just not sure exactly what setting to use?
I lost half the carrot and the Parmesan on the baking sheet. It’s gonna take me a week to scrape that off. Do yourself a favor and YES TO PARCHMENT PAPER!
I had a jar of pesto so I used that to cover my carrots and bought shredded parmesan instead. Found that the cheese wouldn’t stick so I made lines of cheese on my pan and placed the carrots on top which worked great.
Next time I’ll shred my own. This was delicious, no need for dip.
Love your tips and tricks – thanks so much for sharing!
WOW!! Awesome and easy!!
I made this recipe and it was delicious but my problem was a lot of my cheese stuck to the bottom of the pan and then when I tried to scrape it off it just all curled up off the carrot. but those that still had the crust on them was delicious. Is there anything I can do to prevent it from sticking?
Curious as to why no parchment paper? Does it change how crispy it comes out?
Yes! they don’t come out as crispy! But feel free to make them with parchment – they will still be great!
I tried this tonight, forgot to make the sauce, the carrots were so good, my son and I ate them all. lol thank you!
Hi Alina, they are highly enjoyable! Thanks for the kind review!
Wow!! Wow!!! Wow!
I kept reading reviews thinking there was no way these Carrots would turn out to be the magical wonder people kept on about…
Wow..Im ruined forever…
These Carrots were so Yummy!!!
Don’t wait try now!!!
Thanks so much for the super kind rating! And I’m glad they worked out for you so well!
Can I cook them at a lower temperature?
Yes, but will probably take a little bit longer to roast!
I put them on a pizza stone and put my oven on “air fry” mode. AMAZING!!!
Hi Kristine, great idea on the pizza stone! LOVE IT!
It wasn’t a bad recipe but, good lord, what a mess to clean up. it specifically said no parchment but at least spray a cooking spray?
HI Jan, there is oil in the mixture that the carrots are coated with so I did not include more oil on the pan. You can also make them with parchment next time – they’ll still taste great!
I really appreciate this receip most delicious mom’s likes much 🥰🥰😍 thank you for uploading in shares your recipe ma’am Stella
HI Anna, I appreciate you trying my recipes! Thanks for the kind rating!
Love you recipes.
Could you do these with tomatoes slices?
if so, how would you change the recipe?
Thanks so much Kipp, I would not suggest tomato slices only because they have a high liquid content.
Incredible!!
Thanks JOnah!!
I love this snack! I never made carrots before. This was the best! It’s a great healthy alternative to chips. Thanks for sharing!
