Healthy Banana Oatmeal Bread (5 Ingredients)
I’m always on the lookout for quick simple snacks that require very few ingredients that are all whole and you probably already have in your kitchen. This definitely hits those spots.
I’m going to greatly stress to you that this is not a traditional banana bread recipe. As you can tell from the ingredient list, it contains a very minimal amount of sweetener. If you would like a traditional banana bread recipe, please check out my delicious Super Moist Banana Bread. You will not be disappointed.
What you can do, is toss in sugar free chocolate chips, nuts, raisins or seeds to add some flavor. To finish this snack off, I like to serve it with some almond or peanut butter spread on top. Again, this is a protein and nutrient dense snack. And comes together so quickly in your blender or food processor. You can also use oat flour and mix the ingredients in a bowl.

Healthy Banana Oatmeal Bread
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 medium bananas, over ripe
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey)
Optional Add Ins:
- 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 cup chocolate chips, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, 1/2 cup chopped dates or raisins
Instructions
- PLEASE NOTE: This is not a traditionally sweet banana bread. There is minimal sweetener used here. This is a healthy breakfast or snack.
- Preheat oven to 350° F and line a 9×5" loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Add all of the ingredients, in the order above, to your blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Mixture will be liquidy and that's okay.
- Pour the batter into your pan and bake for around 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out mostly clean. Allow bread to cool in the pan at least 20 minutes prior to transferring to cooling rack. And then allow to cool another 20 minutes prior to slicing.
Very good recipe. I made this and added a a few tablespoons of brown sugar (since my supply of honey and maple syrup was less than what was needed at the time), vanilla and no sugar chocolate chips on the top of it & not in it. The bread has plenty of sweetness for my liking.
Love, love, love this bread! Making it as often as we have over ripe bananas.
Hi,
I made it today and it is soooooo delicious 🤤 I have added some cinnamon. Really great!
Thank you for the recipe.
A lot of greetings from Germany

Absolutely delicious!! Thank you 🙏🏼 love from Scotland.
This recipe came out great! I added half a cup of Lily’s semi-sweet chocolate chips….perfect for breakfast or a nice mid-morning snack. Anything that uses up my over ripe bananas is a win for me 🙂
Best banana bread I’ve had without the guilt. It’s healthy and delicious!
Just made this, totally gorgeous! 159 cals per what? 100g?
Holy cow! I forwarded this recipe to my email from my IG account so I could save it on my laptop but now that I’m reading all the amazing reviews with praises of deliciousness & gratitude for this recipe, I feel the need to make it asap!
I made this banana bread today. It’s awesome. Thank you. I follow all your reels.
I’m in GF heaven with this recipe! Added walnuts and it was so delicious, I didn’t want to share!
Made a loaf for breakfast today and it was a huge hit! The only feedback I got from my hectic family was if they could be muffins next time. Would 350 at 15 minutes-ish in a muffin tray be about right?
great bread so easy
The taste was good, but found the bread to be very dry rather than moist which made it not as enjoyable as other banana breads.
The sweetness of this recipe is perfect – most banana breads are way too sweet IMO.
I was a little short on oats, so I subbed in some hemp protein powder. I also added vanilla, chopped walnuts, and subbed 1 tsp. miso paste for the salt (trust me!).
It was delicious. Another HH win!
Fell across this recipe by chance and realised I had all the ingredients in the cupboard – so gave it a try to save throwing bananas away. You’re right, it’s definitely not a ‘sweet cake’, but the texture is fab and very moreish, and its great with a brew as a savoury snack. I drizzled my three pieces (!) with a tiny bit of honey – made ALL the difference. Gorgeous!
I’m always on the look out for different versions of banana bread and this one didn’t disappoint! It was simply delicious! Easy to bake. The texture and taste came out perfect and was just yummo. My new favourite. 👌
