Flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread (6 Ingredients)
Only 6 ingredients standing in between you and banana bread heaven.
This is my favorite recipe out of all the banana loaves I have created, its the simplest and most delicious. The ingredients are mostly all whole ingredients, with the exception of the chocolate. You can add in something else, like chopped dates, raisins or walnuts if you like.

Flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread (6 Ingredients)
Ingredients
- 2 ripe medium bananas, mashed
- 1 cup natural creamy peanut butter
- 1/3 cup honey (or maple syrup)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 9×5" loaf pan with parchment paper or spray with coconut oil.
- Mix all ingredients – EXCEPT THE CHOCOLATE. Once batter is incorporated, then fold in the chocolate pieces. Transfer batter to your pan and top with more chocolate if you like for aesthetic purposes. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Watch the loaf at the 35-40 minute mark, if the top of the loaf is browning excessively, loosely throw over a piece of aluminum foil to cover the top.
- Allow to cool on a wire rack, 15 minutes prior to slicing

I don’t see flour in this recipe
There is no flour in this recipe!
is the nutritional value per serve or the whole loaf?
per serving
can I make muffins out the these?
Absolutely! Just lessen bake time to 20-22 minuts.
Can you use milk chocolate?
of course! That will definitely work!
Great stuff ☺️
Thank you Max!
This has become a big favorite of ours. The texture came out perfectly fine.
Hi Sarah, Glad you loved the recipe! Thanks so much for the rating!
Wow!! So good! I left it in a little too long but still turned out so nice. Wife is GF so anything that doesn’t use flour or dairy is a win!
Hi Jim, This is perfect for her! Glad you tried it and thank you for taking the time to rate and comment!
Guys, mine did not come out. I’m going to blame it on my oven though. It came out burnt and the inside wasn’t cooked all the way? Have 0 idea how that even happens. Great taste though. Will try again.
Hello! Oh no I’m sorry it didnt work out for you! In the Instructions, I state to loosely add a piece of aluminum foil thrown over the top of the loaf to prevent burning and continue the baking until done. Try that next time! Best!
Same happened to me. outer was burning and inner not cooked. kind of confused what happened. I made 2 loafs at the same time (both on top rack). I made one with syrup and the other with honey. I also covered the top after 30mins because it was already starting to burn.
Hi Stacy, Maybe next time bump your oven to 325 F. All ovens are different in strength. I have an electric oven and I used to have a gas oven. The gas was extremely more powerful than the electric.
Tip top…..;)
Thank you Charlie for the rating!1
It was delicious!!! I added roasted walnuts to mine and I’ll definitely be making it again!!!
Hi Stephanie, glad you liked the loaf! And I love the roasted walnuts as an addition! i gotta try that!!
Looks amazing and wonderful for my GF granddaughter. But what peanut butter do you use? The brand I buy doesn’t pour from the jar.
Hi Pauline – I use an all natural PB from Trader Joe’s where the only ingredient is peanuts (and salt). I do not use Jif. You can also find it at Whole Foods and other large super markets! Hope you and your granddaughter enjoy!!
Stella hello, I really loved this recipe I want to make it, but I need a video some help to understand better, I’m not a good to cakes.. 😕 Really need help.. Thank u ❤️❤️ I’m also Greek 💋
Hi Marina, There is a video at the top of the page here!!! Thank you for the sweet message too my Greek sister!!
So good!! I made it on a whim, left it out on the counter to cool and half way through the next day it was finished!! My kids and picky husband all loved the guilt free treat. We substituted peanut butter with almond butter ( only because we had it) and added 2 teaspoons of stevia – no honey because the bananas were super sweet. Came out great.
Hahahahah I hoped you learned your lesson – just kidding!!! I’m really happy the whole family liked the loaf! Thanks also for the glowing review!
Just made this! So. Yum. Havant another slice RIGHT NOW! 😅

It was sooo good! And I didn’t feel guilty eating them 😂 Thank you for sharing!
Hi Michelle, Thanks for trying them out and enjoying them! lol I never feel guilty when I eat something like this – made with whole ingredients you can’t go wrong!
Turned out perfect but, refrigerated the leftovers? And about how long will they keep in the fridge?
Hi Ken, I leave mine out and they last about 3-4 days. You’re better off refrigerating tbh – will last longer – about 5 days.
