These flourless date brownie bites are chewy, chocolatey and made with no added sugar. The sweetness comes from nature’s candy, the dates!
Indulgent snacking doesn’t have to mean a sugar crash. These flourless date brownie bites are the ultimate “hack” for satisfying a chocolate craving using only wholesome ingredients. By swapping out refined sugar and flour for sticky. Rich dates and creamy peanut butter, you get a fudgy, decadent texture that feels like a cheat meal but fits perfectly into a balanced lifestyle.

The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity and speed. Everything from the pitted dates to the rich cacao powder is tossed into a food processor and blended until smooth. Adding a single egg and a splash of milk ensures a moist, cake like consistency that holds up beautifully once baked.

A sprinkle of mini chocolate chips on top adds just the right amount of texture and extra cocoa punch. The result is a healthy, protein packed treat that works just as well for a pre workout boost as it does for a late night dessert.

Since they are naturally gluten free and dairy optional, they’re a crowd pleasing win for almost any dietary preference.

Healthy Date Brownies Bites (Flourless + No Sugar Added)
Ingredients
- 10 medium Medjool dates, pitted
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) milk
- 1/2 cup (130 g) all natural peanut butter
- 1 large egg
- 5 tbs cacao powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- pinch salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup (45 g) mini chocolate chips, (optional)
- flakey sea salt, (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350℉. Spray mini muffin tray with oil.
- In a food processor, pulse together the dates and milk until mostly broken down and incorporated. Next, add in the peanut butter, cacao powder, baking soda, salt, egg, vanilla extract and pulse together until smooth and combined. The mixture will be very sticky, so I recommend using a mini cookie scooper. Transfer the batter to the mini muffin slots. You can top each bite with optional mini chocolate chips. Press them down gently with your finger tips. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until toothpick comes out mostly clean. Allow to set in the pan for 20 minutes then remove.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for 5 days.
- You can use any other smooth and creamy all natural nut or seed butter besides peanut butter.
- You can use any type of milk you prefer to make these dairy free.

These were absolutely incredible! They were fudgy and delicious! My husband is diabetic but he did not spike. I am assuming the dates paired with the natural peanut butter and no sugar and flour. I will be making again and again!
Hi Tammy, That’s fantastic! I’m so glad you both loved the treats!
I was looking for a low or no sugar desert and came across these brownies. I made them as directed and they came out beautiful and delicious. They were moist with a cake like texture and very chocolaty. My husband loved these and because he’s diabetic, I loved making them for him.

These are seriously the easiest healthy thing I’ve ever made. And delicious! I subbed almond milk instead of dairy and used egg replacer instead of egg, and they turned out brilliant. Thank you!

Would love to make these. Can you use regular coco powder?
Hi Sue, absolutely cocoa works too!
Could I use almond butter instead of peanut butter?
Hi Holly, yes – almond butter works here too!
Could I use heavy whipping cream instead of milk? It’s all I have.
Hi Lani, Yes of course or water!
I made these and took them to work. Everyone wanted the recipe and I gave them your website! The only thing I did different was to double the batch, lol! Very chocolately and moist and just good for you! My husband and I just love them and we are looking forward to trying more of your recipes! Thanks for sharing!
Welcome Carolyn!

Can I use delget noor dates instead of medjool? They are smaller so how many would I use?
Hi Alex, I would do 15 delget noor dates for this recipe
So yummy, and a healthy choice! I subbed PB2 for the peanut butter and added a little bit of applesauce to make up for the lack of the oil. They turned out moist and delicious! Will make these again!!
