Easy Lemon Garlic Baked Artichoke Hearts
Artichokes have always been one of my beloved vegetables. I remember my mom and yiayia always telling me how many nutrients and vitamins are found in artichokes and that they were especially beneficial to a woman’s reproductive system. We ate them often growing up since they are one of the most elite veggies you can have!
This dish happens to be one of my favorite and easiest ways to prepare artichokes. They turn out super flavorful and crunchy. You will want to make them time and again especially for parties and get togethers! I used jarred artichoke hearts in my video but canned in water artichoke hearts also work amazing here!
If you would like to make this dish Gluten Free, simply sub in GF breadcrumbs or seasoned almond flour for the regular breadcrumbs. If you would like to make this dish dairy free, simply substitute in Nutritional Yeast for the grated parmesan cheese.

Lemon Garlic Baked Artichoke Hearts
Equipment
Ingredients
Seasoned Breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tbs fresh chopped parsley
- 1/2 large lemon zested + juiced
- salt and pepper to taste
Assembly:
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp chili pepper flakes
- 3 (14 oz) cans whole artichoke hearts drained, rinsed + dried
- garnish: more parsley + lemon zest
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375℉.
- In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, grated cheese, parsley, lemon zest and juice, and salt and pepper to taste. Taste and adjust tang or salt if needed.
- In a glass cup, whisk together the oil, garlic and chili flakes. Drizzle half the mixture onto the bottom of a baking dish and spread evenly. Add your artichokes to the dish add the rest of the oil onto them. Sprinkle all over artichokes with the breadcrumb mixture and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown on top. I broiled mine for a minute to get the color. Just watch them if you do. Garnish with more parsley and lemon slices.
Can this be frozen after cooking?

Hi Denise, I’m so glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thanks for the kind feedback!
I made this recipe tonight for company and it was so good!! It also looked beautiful, and I am very excited that I have leftovers for tomorrow night. I served it with grilled chicken, roasted broccoli & romanescu, sweet potato halves topped with a date / pecan / feta crumble a la #starinfinitefood (also incredible!) I used paleo breadcrumbs .. other than that everything just as instructed. Thanks for an easy and delish crowd pleaser. !!
