Mediterranean Meatballs (Spinach and Feta Keftedes)
I have many meatball recipes but this happens to be a favorite. I’ve also formed these into burger patties and they are for sure a crowd pleaser.
You can use any type of ground meat here. I love them with ground lamb, beef, pork and chicken. You can also fry them in a pan with some olive oil, in lieu of baking. Either way, they will put a smile on your face. The must make accompaniment is my Tsatziki sauce. Do they need it? No. But it really takes the dish to the next level and is easy to whip up, so why not?
If you like this recipe, you might want to try my Soutzoukakia (Baked Greek Meatballs with Potatoes) or my Easy Chicken Pesto Meatballs.

And I’d like to serve them a room temp….??
Hi! Can I make and bake them ahead of time and serve them as an appetizer at a party?
Hi Stella, would this recipe still be flavorful (would it still work well) if I left out the breadcrumbs? I’m trying to do low carb for dietary reasons. Thank you.
Hey Stella, how many meatballs does this recipe make? i can see it says 5 servings, but how many meatballs is that, approx? thanks!
Could you also make these for an air-fryer?
The most delicious meat balls I ever tried
My family loved it !!!
The only problem is that I seriously can’t stop eating them!
Love this recipe! I was nervous to use the mint because I usually use parsley and my kids loved it. I used ground beef and turkey. Thank you!
Excellent!!!!!
Can I use dry mint instead of fresh? And how much?
Thank you
These are my go to !!
I sub spinach sometimes with Bella mushrooms or cabbage chopped in food processor & add lots of Greek oregano especially with ground turkey .
My husband loved them so much he wanted to know how to make them!
The mint is the key it really pops in this recipe.
Loved these keftedes, easy to make and so flavourful. Will be making them smaller next time and have then as nibbles for drinks, yum
Perfect idea to have them as appetizer! Thank you for the feedback!
Made these today for dinner, came out really good! I left out the breadcrumbs (I know makes them less authentic, my baba told me) but they still came out great! The recipe is easy to follow and comes together quickly. I used a little more turkey because I have 4 children so I just increased everything else accordingly. Also used Stella’s recipe for tzatziki and I highly recommend for everyone to make it!
Hi Jade, thank you so much for the kind feedback and sharing your tips with us! Super helpful!
Thanks, now I know what to do with the frozen turkey breast. Going to run it through the meat grinder and make meatballs. They sound delicious
Just the right combination of flavors! Great as an appetizer dipped in hummus or tzatziki, or in a pita wrap!
Easy prep and tasted delicious! Would definitely recommend and make again.
