2 Ingredient Yogurt Bread
This was clearly a breeze to throw together in a few minutes time. The result is a delicious bread you will have trouble controlling yourself around. The texture is soft and fluffy and the taste is slightly sweet but kind of salty.
I used the brands pictured above. They are also linked in the recipe box below. I have also included the instructions for Homemade Self Rising Flour in the recipe box below. The dough should be sticky and thick. Make sure you incorporate all of the flour into the dough. Make sure you use regular vanilla yogurt – Greek yogurt does not work in this recipe!
Really a great combination I can’t wait to try with other add ins like chocolate chips or blueberries or cheese and olives. I topped mine with tahini and honey and was in heaven.

2 Ingredient Yogurt Bread
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 cups self rising flour
- 1¾ cups low fat vanilla yogurt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375℉. Line an 8×4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Sift your flour into a large bowl. Add to it the yogurt and mix using a silicone spatula until the flour is completely incorporated. Transfer the batter to your pan and spread out evenly with the spatula so that the top is mostly even. Bake for 35-40 minutes. I had to loosely cover mine halfway through the baking because the top was getting too tan. Remove your pan from the oven and allow 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to fully cool.
- If you don't have Self Rising Flour here is the Homemade version:3 cups all purpose flour + 4½ tsp baking powder + 3/4 tsp salt
- Make sure you use regular vanilla yogurt – Greek yogurt does not work in this recipe.
Hi, this looks so easy and yummy. I have a few questions. Is this better with whole milk or low fat yogurt, can it be made with plain yogurt with good results and does this bread toast well? Thank you!
I don’t like crust, could I used the microwave to cook the bread?
Hi Kathie, I dont own a microwave so I cant say if that would work here. I’m sorry
OMG! I made this for breakfast today, exactly the way you did it and it came out excellently well. It was not even enough for them in the house because they ate double . Thank you for this recipe . Perfect 👌
I took pictures and short videos to drop here but can’t find where to add it.
Hello! I’m so glad the whole family enjoyed the loaf! I’m sorry, currently we aren’t capable to allow commentors to add pictures/videos. Hopefully soon we will! Cheers!
Hello how long does it last I made it worked great 2 weeks later in the fridge still moist no mold or bad smell the same as when I put it in there but is it safe to eat Thanks Greg
Hi Greg, thats awesome feedback! Glad it lasted and stayed fresh!
I used the same ingredients pictured and it turned out great! I wonder if you could add other ingredients like cheese, garlic, onion etc. to make other flavors?
Hi Tina, yes you can definitely add in other ingredients here like cheese or blueberries!
l love the recipe, I am going to try it.
enjoy!
So simply yet so delicious. Have made it 3 times now and will keep making it.
Hi Wendy, so glad you like the recipe! Thank you for the kind review!
Has anyone tried this with gluten free flour mix and had success.
This bread is so easy to make and it’s delish!
The second time I made it I used whole wheat flour and it was just as delicious!
Thanks, Stella.
Awesome! Glad you liked the recipe!
I tried the recipe.
I used all purpose gluten free flour plus the additional items to make it self rising.
I used lactose free vanilla yogurt.
It did not work. It was crumbley, did not cook evenly and did not rise.
Could not eat it. Had 5o garbage it😣
Can you use plain yogurt and add vanilla extract?
Hi Alyse, you can use plain yogurt and add in vanilla and some sort of sweetener.
After I make the two ingredient Yogurt Bread, what is the best way to store?
Store in an air tight container on your counter for 3 days or in your fridge for up to 5 days.
wow, wanted to make this so badly after watching your short reel, so immediately went and bought some GREEK vanilla yogurt. yogurt is expensive and I’m on a fixed income. Bummer
I have made this 3 times and it is declious.
Did one with Vanilla yogurt but wanted a regular taste bread.
Then I tried it with regular yogurt and it was great.
Then I tried it with Low Fat Yogurt and added some onion powder and garlic
powder and it was even better.
Made great toast too.
Made two loaves together and am freezing one.
Many Thanks Stella for any easy bread and fast to make and without preservatives.
Hi Gai, That’s great to hear! And thanks for sharing the all the different versions you’ve tried! I’m going to try savory myself with some cheese!
Maybe it is due to high altitude and low humidity in my city, but! I had to use twice as much yogurt and had to bake it twice as long. Overall it was well worth it as it was delicious!!
P.S. the other recipes of yours have needed longer baking times as well, so I’m convinced it’s just a difference in location.
HI Nicky, glad you figured out how to work the recipe for your altitude! And it could be a difference in ovens. I have an electric which is weaker than my previous oven which was gas ….
I grew up in a mountain City about 2,700 ft above sea level. making knead bread with my mom 6 to 12 loaves a week in a bowl that would make six loaves at once). grew up move to the other side of the state on a coastal town I’m now 500 ft above sea level. absolutely completely different ball game regarding how much stuff does and does not rise. I always wish the authors would say where they were or at least their elevation for privacy purposes. doubled the recipe had to add some water to make it a little more of a Shaggy batter, it’s in the oven now we’ll see how it goes. discovered no knead in my 40s. the first chance I got I drove 400 miles to show my mom) my mind is blown that this is a dump and bake I can’t wait to try this. and even if it’s not quite right (because I’m at sea level) I’m sure i can figure it out 😀
mine doesn’t look as pretty but it is good. I added banana and blueberries. I will definitely try this recipe again.
Hi Christine sounds awesome with the add ins!
