2 Ingredient Yogurt Bread
This was clearly a breeze to throw together in a few minutes time. The result is a delicious bread you will have trouble controlling yourself around. The texture is soft and fluffy and the taste is slightly sweet but kind of salty.
I used the brands pictured above. They are also linked in the recipe box below. I have also included the instructions for Homemade Self Rising Flour in the recipe box below. The dough should be sticky and thick. Make sure you incorporate all of the flour into the dough. Make sure you use regular vanilla yogurt – Greek yogurt does not work in this recipe!
Really a great combination I can’t wait to try with other add ins like chocolate chips or blueberries or cheese and olives. I topped mine with tahini and honey and was in heaven.

2 Ingredient Yogurt Bread
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 cups self rising flour
- 1¾ cups low fat vanilla yogurt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375℉. Line an 8×4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Sift your flour into a large bowl. Add to it the yogurt and mix using a silicone spatula until the flour is completely incorporated. Transfer the batter to your pan and spread out evenly with the spatula so that the top is mostly even. Bake for 35-40 minutes. I had to loosely cover mine halfway through the baking because the top was getting too tan. Remove your pan from the oven and allow 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to fully cool.
- If you don't have Self Rising Flour here is the Homemade version:3 cups all purpose flour + 4½ tsp baking powder + 3/4 tsp salt
- Make sure you use regular vanilla yogurt – Greek yogurt does not work in this recipe.
In a pinch, I guess. Too dense, too pasty. I feel like I wasted 3 cups of flour (self rising). Not sure what I should do with this block of stuff. I’m hoping my birds can pick away at this.
I will try this recipe thank you for sending it to me. I will make it tomorrow. I have all the ingredients here at home. Thank you again so much. God bless.
Would plain yogurt work?
I tried plain yoghurt and is the same consistency but no sweet flavour from the vanilla. Also make sure to use the low fat yoghurt as trying full fat made mine stodgy in the middle. 😁
The photo shows whole milk yogurt, and your written recipe says low fat yogurt. Can we use either? Thx
I made this twice already. Although both times I did need to add more yogurt for some unknown reason. Never the less a great go to bread recipe when in need of bread with little time!
This bread turned out so yummy, my flour had 3 grams of protein so followed your directions for that and it turned out beautiful. Was wondering about adding herbs with plain yogurt, and trying different flavors of yogurt, like strawberry. Thank you for sharing!!
I made this yesterday and the crust was so hard And the inside was like pudding. I used whole milk yogurt because that’s what the picture shows but then after I made it, I see that you have low-fat yogurt. it tasted good but I’m going to try next time using the low-fat yogurt and a couple tablespoons less in flour. see how it gets.
It’s saying to use low fat vanilla yogurt. Otherwise the recipe does not work.
I make it with full fat vanilla yogurt and it comes out great.
going to make it again w a mix of vanilla & raspberry siggi’s. I even bought self-rising flour instead of making my own with my high alt flour. my hubby loved it! so simple! I’m at almost 5000′ & used a gas oven. I might have baked it a bit longer, but that’s common here. It seemed dry, so I added maybe an extra Tbsp yogurt, but I won’t this time. Thanks for the recipe, Stella!
can you use plain whole milk yogurt instead of vanilla?
I made this bread today. All I had was Greek vanilla yogurt and all purpose flour. I looked up how to make self rising flour and it said to add baking soda, baking powder and salt which I did. I had to use more yogurt than it called for, and cook it for about 48min but the bread turned out great! I’ll try again using the right flour and right yogurt next time. Thank you so much for this recipe!
I baked this bread today. Unfortunately I needed to add extra low fat vanilla yogurt (double the amount stated) as the flour wasn’t incorporating well with just 1 3/4 cups. Not sure why🤷♀️ It also did need extra 15mins baking, but the bread came out moist and delicious! the top was crunchy (as I purposely wanted more crunch ontop) and the centre was perfect. Even my fussy husband loved it.
Thank you for this quick and easy bread Stella. Definitely will be making this again and looking at trying out the red lentil bread next!
Made exactly like it said to! Mine came out perfect the first time. Top crunchy and inside dense which will work great for sandwiches. Not hard to slice. This will be a staple at our house. Serving homemade bread always impresses people .
Also can I use a silicone loaf pan?
If I use almond flour do I need to add the baking powder and salt?
Would lower protein flour be better
Can I use the 9×5 loaf pan? I definitely want to try it as usually have lots of vanilla yogurt and flour!
