2 Ingredient Yogurt Bread
This was clearly a breeze to throw together in a few minutes time. The result is a delicious bread you will have trouble controlling yourself around. The texture is soft and fluffy and the taste is slightly sweet but kind of salty.
I used the brands pictured above. They are also linked in the recipe box below. I have also included the instructions for Homemade Self Rising Flour in the recipe box below. The dough should be sticky and thick. Make sure you incorporate all of the flour into the dough. Make sure you use regular vanilla yogurt – Greek yogurt does not work in this recipe!
Really a great combination I can’t wait to try with other add ins like chocolate chips or blueberries or cheese and olives. I topped mine with tahini and honey and was in heaven.

2 Ingredient Yogurt Bread
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 cups self rising flour
- 1¾ cups low fat vanilla yogurt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375℉. Line an 8×4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Sift your flour into a large bowl. Add to it the yogurt and mix using a silicone spatula until the flour is completely incorporated. Transfer the batter to your pan and spread out evenly with the spatula so that the top is mostly even. Bake for 35-40 minutes. I had to loosely cover mine halfway through the baking because the top was getting too tan. Remove your pan from the oven and allow 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to fully cool.
- If you don't have Self Rising Flour here is the Homemade version:3 cups all purpose flour + 4½ tsp baking powder + 3/4 tsp salt
- Make sure you use regular vanilla yogurt – Greek yogurt does not work in this recipe.
have made this many times and love it. Its so fast and so easy.
Thank you Stella for this.
HI Gail, i’m so happy the recipe worked out great for you!
Tried this bread recipe tonight and it was ery tasty when I added butter to a slice after it coed down. 4 stars because it is kind of dense but I like it. Will make it again
Could Carb Smart baking mix be substituted for regular flour?
Can you make this in a glass or ceramic dish?
I did and it worked fine.
I found it a little dense, didn’t rise as high as your picture shows.
Very easy to make though, didn’t need to cover mine. Sprinkled with honey and toasted sesame seeds
Just an addendum. I had written that I’d had to add an additional 2/3 cup yogurt to get dough to come together. After cooling in the pan for fifteen minutes, my husband really wanted to try it immediately. I sliced the loaf and found the nice dense texture people have mentioned. We like it and I’m looking forward to trying it with shredded cheddar and chives and also a lemon blueberry flavor. it offers lots of options.
The loaf is in the oven now. the problem I had was that no matter how much I tried to incorporate the yogurt into the flour, half the flour was still dry and wouldn’t mix in. I ended up adding another 2/3 cup of yogurt to even get it to hold form enough to put in pan. I’m not a newbie…have been baking for 68 years! Waiting to see how it turns out.
great recipe. I mage the mistake of using Greek yoghurt, it still works but didn’t quite rise as much as pictured. it’s so yummy, thank you.
what a easy 2 step recipe aboustley beautiful bread as you try not to eat the loaf in one day slightly sweet n salty but so delicious 😋
Hi Sonya, Im glad you loved the bread recipe! thanks for trying it out
I will be making this as soon as I need bre ad. just wondering, can you toast this?
Yes!
Hi I tried making the yogurt bread the outside gets done the inside still moist not done what am I doing wrong flour selfrising and plain yogurt mixed qell place on a bread pan. and wait (not done in the middle) HELP
I made it this morning and it did rise but came out heavy and a bit doughy.
can you use almond or coconut flour instead to make it low carb?
Followed your recipe.. it took 1 hr and 40 min to bake!!! Sorry, not worth it!!
This is such an easy recipe! The first time I made it I described it as something between a cake and bread. The vanilla flavor was so amazing. I have made it with plain yogurt as well. I have made an Italian version with garlic and Marian herbs and it was so good. I can’t wait to make more versions as well.
It is a dense bread but I wouldn’t expect it not to be. A good recipe for something different but very versatile. I love making toast etc.
Hi Lindy, great description!
Oh my I love this so much and made it today for the very 1st time. Thank you so much. It brought me joy, and to two of my friends too. I also toasted a slice and it was yummy! Thanks again so much for sharing this with us 🙂 I have photos if you want to see them!
love it, great taste, my go to bread from now on.
I have not tried it yet but I plan to soon!
That didn’t work at all! It didn’t come together in dough at all – more like clumps. I had to add extra yoghurt. Gluey on the inside too crunch to slide on the outside, only rose about 3 inches. I used GF flour and added the baking powder. It tastes of baking powder. Gonna try the cottage cheese one next, I guess.
so you didn’t use the recipe, but want to give the recipe one star? 🤔 I watched the video and now want to buy a bread pan. five stars 🤩
Substituting GF flour for regular flour does not work without adjustments and/or additional ingredients.
What are you rating? You didn’t even follow the recipe.
Why do people change up recipes then give it a 1 star when it turns out bad? Makes no sense.
yikes didn’t rise at all. Looks awful
