2 Ingredient Yogurt Bread
This was clearly a breeze to throw together in a few minutes time. The result is a delicious bread you will have trouble controlling yourself around. The texture is soft and fluffy and the taste is slightly sweet but kind of salty.
I used the brands pictured above. They are also linked in the recipe box below. I have also included the instructions for Homemade Self Rising Flour in the recipe box below. The dough should be sticky and thick. Make sure you incorporate all of the flour into the dough. Make sure you use regular vanilla yogurt – Greek yogurt does not work in this recipe!
Really a great combination I can’t wait to try with other add ins like chocolate chips or blueberries or cheese and olives. I topped mine with tahini and honey and was in heaven.

2 Ingredient Yogurt Bread
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 cups self rising flour
- 1¾ cups low fat vanilla yogurt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375℉. Line an 8×4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Sift your flour into a large bowl. Add to it the yogurt and mix using a silicone spatula until the flour is completely incorporated. Transfer the batter to your pan and spread out evenly with the spatula so that the top is mostly even. Bake for 35-40 minutes. I had to loosely cover mine halfway through the baking because the top was getting too tan. Remove your pan from the oven and allow 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to fully cool.
- If you don't have Self Rising Flour here is the Homemade version:3 cups all purpose flour + 4½ tsp baking powder + 3/4 tsp salt
- Make sure you use regular vanilla yogurt – Greek yogurt does not work in this recipe.
do i have to use parchment paper? i didnt see a substitute for it unless i didnt look well?
You can also grease or spray the pan!
i made sure I got the correct type of flour and yogurt. I made muffins. they came out chewy. I made a small loaf with the remaining dough. I gave a 3 star because it was somewhat chewy. taste was good to me, sweet. I don’t see anything you can use this with except maybe ice cream.
I am literally shocked at the outcome of this recipe with only 2 ingredients. I am amazed at how easy it is to make. it’s absolutely delicious.
Hi Kay, the same thing happened to me when I tried it! I’m so glad you loved the recipe!
how much yogurt?
Hi
Can you use a deferent kind of flour not a white?
LOVE HOME MADE BREAD GOING TO TRY THIS THANKS
Can I sub blended cottage cheese instead of yogurt?
Hi Karen, I haven’t tried it but it should work!
I used Oikos Vanilla yogurt. I thought it was regular yogurt because the container didn’t say Greek. I looked it up online and it says it’s Greek yogurt. Anyway, the Oikos triple zero yogurt worked. It was very dense but super yummy. Crusty outside and super soft on the inside. Thanks for the recipe. I’ll try it with regular yogurt next time.
Beautiful! thanks for sharing your experience Mary!
Looks great, but why wouldn’t it work with Greek vanilla yogurt? That has better nutrition.
PLEASE correct recipe ingredients, instructions and tweak amount of yogurt needed. Instagram Video calls for Self-Rising Flour and Vanilla Whole Milk Yogurt. Same pictured ingredients on this website. Listed recipe ingredients as Low-Fat Yogurt but in instructions step 4 Regular Vanilla Yogurt is listed. Which one is it? Amount of Yogurt should be increased slightly too. Just made the bread. It’s almost there, but not quite, hence 3 stars.
Has anyone tried Sour Cream or Blended Cottage Cheese? And if so, did it work also?
Could i use almond flour instead?
It’s in the oven….anxiously awaiting ! Only a few more minutes. . . .
I cut this down 3/4 cup flour so I could use a 6oz yogurt cup and a small bread pan. Worked beautifully, and I started using it for my “Kitchen Klub” activity I do in Assisted Living. First week went great, and next week we’ll try some add ins!
This bread is delicious and so easy to make. I followed your instructions and it worked beautifully!!
Please let me know the best way to store this bread after baking. I know it won’t last long!! Thank you!
I’m vegan and I used cashew yogurt. It has some coconut with it. It was plain. I like it. I like the quickness. It tasted great.
