Cauliflower Pizza Steaks (Low Carb)
Cauliflower doesn’t have to be boring and pizza doesn’t have to be high carb and high calorie.
This is another variation on my Cheesy Cauliflower Steaks I made last year that have a combined 40 million views on all my platforms. Its amazing how much everyone loved the recipe and I’m so grateful that it was useful!

To make this recipe vegan or vegetarian, simply sub out the parmesan for nutritional yeast. Use dairy free shredded mozzarella. And switch up the toppings with sliced olives or mushrooms. This is such a customizable recipe.

Cauliflower Pizza Steaks (Low Carb)
Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbs grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp each garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian herb blend
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/3 cup marinara sauce
- 2 oz mini pepperoni (or bacon)
- Garnish: chili pepper flakes + basil
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400℉ or oven to 425℉. Line a medium baking tray with parchment paper.
- Leaving the stalk in place, slice your cauliflower in half first then slice the halves into steaks. Transfer to your baking tray.
- In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, grated parmesan, spices and salt and pepper to taste. Brush this mixture on the front back and sides of each cauliflower steak. Airfry for 15 minutes (or until fork tender), flipping halfway through. Bake for about 20 minutes (or until fork tender), flipping halfway through.
- Brush each slice with your sauce, sprinkle with cheese and pepperonis. Bake in the oven for another 5 minutes or until melted and slightly golden brown.
- Garnish with chili pepper flakes and basil.
Notes
Use nutritional yeast instead of grated parmesan.
Use diary free shredded cheese to make this vegan.
Substitute mushrooms or olives for the pepperoni to make this vegetarian.

Was able to only get 2 “steaks”…florets came apart..maybe I cut them the wrong way!!!
Hi Leathia, Yes, sometimes they fall apart when you slice them. Make sure you slice them in half FIRST and then slice the halves. Most people just group up the fallen apart steaks and form a piece and still salvage a steak! Thats what I do too! Thank you for trying the recipe!
I have a question about the airfry and bake potion of the recipe #3. You airfry for 15 minutes then bake in the air fryer or in the oven for 20 minutes? Thank you
Hi Angela, the 20 minutes would be an oven instruction, definitely too long for a basket air fryer. hope this helps!
I cook for one. Do these keep well in the fridge? (Basic cauliflower steaks without any toppings)
Hi Dana, yes I love to reheat these in my mini oven!
Made these tonight!! So yummy! ❤️
Hi Jen, thanks for trying them out! Thank you for the rating too!
I don’t have an air fryer. Can I just do them in the oven?
Hi Shelley, absolutely yes! Do 425 F for your oven
Thank you.
What if you don’t have an air fryer. Does the oven work or is the bbq better? Cook them longer if in the oven?
