Healthy Banana Oatmeal Bread (5 Ingredients)
I’m always on the lookout for quick simple snacks that require very few ingredients that are all whole and you probably already have in your kitchen. This definitely hits those spots.
I’m going to greatly stress to you that this is not a traditional banana bread recipe. As you can tell from the ingredient list, it contains a very minimal amount of sweetener. If you would like a traditional banana bread recipe, please check out my delicious Super Moist Banana Bread. You will not be disappointed.
What you can do, is toss in sugar free chocolate chips, nuts, raisins or seeds to add some flavor. To finish this snack off, I like to serve it with some almond or peanut butter spread on top. Again, this is a protein and nutrient dense snack. And comes together so quickly in your blender or food processor. You can also use oat flour and mix the ingredients in a bowl.

Healthy Banana Oatmeal Bread
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 medium bananas, over ripe
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey)
Optional Add Ins:
- 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 cup chocolate chips, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, 1/2 cup chopped dates or raisins
Instructions
- PLEASE NOTE: This is not a traditionally sweet banana bread. There is minimal sweetener used here. This is a healthy breakfast or snack.
- Preheat oven to 350° F and line a 9×5" loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Add all of the ingredients, in the order above, to your blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Mixture will be liquidy and that's okay.
- Pour the batter into your pan and bake for around 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out mostly clean. Allow bread to cool in the pan at least 20 minutes prior to transferring to cooling rack. And then allow to cool another 20 minutes prior to slicing.
Wow!!! This recipe is outstanding.
I made it as muffins and added chopped dates and a little carob powder sprinkled on the top.
Five stars and a million thank you’s.

I made your recipe with Lillie’s sugar free dark chocolate chips and sugar
free maple syrup plus I didn’t think it would fit in my Ninja blender so I mixed it all in a bowl and it came out GREAT! Thank you for all of your great recipes!
Hi Betsy, great feedback! Thank you for sharing with us!

Hi Ashley, I’m so glad the recipe worked out! CheerS!
I have just made this and it is delicious. I added some walnuts, some flaked almond’s, cinnnamon and vanilla essence. I whizzed the oats to make them finer. It was cooked five minutes less.
Thank you so much.

HI Dorothy, I’m glad you tried it and liked it! Thanks for the kind feedback!
Can I use thawed frozen bananas in this recipe? oI only have 2 bananas at the moment but have several that are frozen.
If theyre thawed it should work!
This sounds great, I can’t wait to try it! You mentioned using a loaf pan, but not a specific size. Which size do you recommend for this recipe?
BTW, I particularly love your recipes that quickly come together in a blender or processor. SO awesome for clean-up!
Thank you, KC
Hi KC, I’m so onboard with the blender recipes too! Super simple for clean up. For this I used a 9×5 loaf pan but 8×4 would work too. Enjoy!
I used a regular size loaf pan, not mini, and it raised up and filled it.
I added two medjool dates to the blender and it added, I think, just enough added sweetener. Delish!
Hi Elaine, that’s a great idea! Thanks for sharing that feedback with us!
How much ist flour would you use instead of oatmeal? Thank you.
Hi Janice, I would do 1 1/2 cups flour
Love this recipe. For the oats I used Kodiak Bear Protien Oats, bumped up the protien and very filling. I plan to freeze individual servings for an alternative quick breakfast idea.
Hello! Do you know the equivalent of the rolled oats if I already blended them? (Oat flour)
