Healthy Apple Oatmeal Blender Bread
This delicious loaf is ideal for the fall season. Once September starts, we start to crave apple breakfast treats and desserts. One of the most viral recipes on our blog is the Invisible Apple Cake. Its texture is custardy and scrumptious!
I recommend using Honey Crispy apples or Fiji apples in this recipe for optimal sweetness. Make sure you soak your dates if they’re not fresh, to soften them up for th blender. I utilized the Apple Oat Muffin recipe from my blog that has been super popular.
The difference between this recipe and most other apple desserts and breakfasts you see out there is that this one lacks lots of sugar. Instead we use wholesome dates and apples for a more subtle sweetness, which is definitely a preference of mine. Some other subtly sweet apple recipes are my Flourless Apple Bread or 4 Ingredient Carrot Apple Bread.

Healthy Apple Oatmeal Blender Bread
Equipment
Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats gluten free
- 9 medjool dates, pitted
- 1/2 cup olive oil (or butter)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey)
- 2 large apples, peeled + grated
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350℉ (or 175℃). Line an 8×4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper or spray with oil or butter.
- If your dates are older and tougher, soak them in warm water for 15 minutes.
- Add all of the ingredients to your blender in the order they appear above. Blend until mostly smooth. Don't worry, batter is supposed to look chunky. Pour the batter into your pan and spread out evenly. Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Allow to set in your pan for 10 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Enjoy with some honey and Greek yogurt for extra protein but feels like frosting!
Made this yesterday. Used honey and butter. Added ginger and freshly ground nutmeg. Had to bake one hour and 7 minutes. The apples were very moist.
It turned out great! My favourite of your recipes, so far!
Absolutely delicious!!! Wondering if these would work as mini muffins and how long would you bake ? Thank you!!!!
HI Caroline, Yes, this could totally work in a mini muffin tray- i would do about 15-17 minutes
I really enjoyed this! Making again for the third time!
HI Nereida, that’s awesome! Thank you for the kind feedback!
Although it tasted nice, it didn’t resemble bread at all.
I’m sorry the recipe didn’t work out for you!
Wow!! Great recipe. I really like the flavor!
Will make again soon. I used date syrup in place of dates. (1 tbsp for each medjool date.) I made into 8 mini loafs.
Hi Bonita, I love that tip! Thank you for trying out the recipe too!
This is such a delicious recipe! I love that the ingredients are simple, and the process even simpler. My 4 year old had just as much fun helping as he did eating. I made it for his school snack as I’m always looking for healthy snack choices for him as I can’t stand the processed garbage. Thank you so much, Stella! I will definitely be trying more of your amazing recipes! I’m so glad I found you on Instagram! ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Mohini, I’m so glad you’re here! Thank you for such a lovely message and trusting me in your kitchen! Lots of love to you and your family!
This recipe has pleasantly surprised me! Wow this is delicious. I baked it for 50 min then switched off the oven as the centre was just not done. Removed it about 10 min later.
My oh my, this will be a regular on my list. Will add some nuts raisins to my next batch.Thank you for the recipe.
Much love from South Arica.

Loved it so much, I’ve made it again, not in a blender though, I used a Thermomix. Added sultanas and walnuts
Hi Wendy, I’m so happy you loved the recipe! thank you for trying it!
I had to bake it for almost 60 minutes, but it turned out wonnnnderfully tasty. Just a bit browner than Stella’s :)) texture and taste are perfect, I haven’t had such a delicious sugarless flourless snack in a long time. It goes very well with tea and coffee. I used date paste instead of dates.
HI Gonca, I’m so happy you loved the bread! Please keep in mind too, that all ovens are different in their strength. Some are stronger than mine and some aren’t. Sounds delicious with the date paste too!
hello, thanks for the great recipes.
I want to try this cake but O dont have a loaf pan. can I bake it in a muffin pan?
thanks
Hi May, YES!! you can totally use a muffin tray here. just decrease the time to 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
Made this tonight, so simple and so delicious and incredibly moist!
Hi Linda, I’m so glad it was a winner for you! We loved it too!
I just made this recipe and it is delicious. I added a bit of fresh grated ginger to it and I also replaced the dates for golden raisins. it turned out great I topped it off with Greek yogurt and honey yum 😋 thanks for sharing your recipes.
Could applesauce be used instead of shredded apples?
Hi Sarah, I havent tried it that way but it might work with some extra oats added into the recipe

How do you feel about using avocado oil?
HI Laurie, Thank you so much for supporting me and my site!
yes, I definitely agree with using Avocado Oil.. I typically either enjoy Olive oil, Avocado oil or butter in my recipes and life!
Avocado oil is not a seed oil because the oil comes from the flesh/pulp of the avocado not the seed.

How many dried cranberries to replace the dates?
Hi Sheila, I would do about 3/4 cup to 1 cup dried cranberries.
