Easy Lemon Garlic Parmesan Chicken Recipe
This is an iconic chicken recipe that you cannot help but create because, once again, super easy to throw together and the flavors and taste are ALL THERE! The secret is to reserve a portion of the lemon garlic parmesan marinade on the side prior to adding the chicken to it (obviously). Then use that reserved marinade when serving the dish as a sauce. It makes all the difference and levels up the end product. And yes, this can work with any type of meat or fish! If you love this recipe you will love my Lemon Pepper Chicken Skewers or Greek Lemon Chicken and Potatoes.
Some great sides with this chicken dish are my Maroulosalata, Traditional Greek Salad, my Greek Yogurt Cucumber Salad, or my Dakos Salata. I would also enjoy this with some additional side dishes like my Creamy Mushroom Rice, my Greek Sweet Peas and Potatoes or my Spanakorizo.

Easy Lemon Garlic Parmesan Chicken
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 large lemon, juiced (2 tbs)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbs honey
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp chili pepper flakes
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400℉ or your air fryer to 375℉.
- Rinse and pat dry your chicken pieces. Transfer to a ziploc bag.
- In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, honey, garlic, spices, salt and pepper to taste and grated parmesan. Whisk together. Transfer 3/4 of this mixture to the ziploc bag and close the bag. Swoosh the chicken around to coat in the mixture and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight. Take the remaining 1/4 marinade, store it in your fridge for serving (after the chicken is cooked). This reserved marinade is not to touch the raw chicken.
- Place the chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 17-20 minutes. Air fry for 12 minutes.
- Top the chicken with the remaining marinade to serve and dip.
loved this recipe! the extra marinade as a topper is so good. would this work with boneless skinless chicken breast instead of thighs?
This is a good recipe and easy. And luckily I had all the ingredients. Will keep and make again!
I just discovered your site through YouTube, but will definitely make this- have already made your crispy parmesan potato chips-love them!
Hi Dave and welcome!!
I hope you tried this one too! its a fan favorite and so good!
Hi! Tried this one but used chicken filet instead. Delicious ☺️🇸🇪
Yay! Glad you liked the recipe!
I made this exactly to the recipe and was delicious. Even the folks in my household who are not fond of fish thought it was good! Complimented it with cauliflower rice with peppers and onions! Will definitely make again!
Hi Patricia, Sounds delicious with what you made! Thanks for sharing!!
washing the chicken has to be an American thing for sure. We have never ever had to do anything of the sort here in Australia in all my 50+ years of cooking. it’s one way to spread semolina for sure. if processed and handled correctly in the first place there is no need for washing
I’m American. I would never ever wash chicken. So unnecessary and all the experts warn against it. You are just spreading bacteria around. Gross.
This was pretty good. Made with rice and green beans. Used bone in thighs and cooked at 400 Hey baby for 20 minutes and about 10 more minutes at 375
Hi Shera, glad you liked it!
This was the most flavorful chicken I have had. The marinade is freaking amazing! I made the marinade just like Stella posted. I normally do not add any sweetness to my marinades, but I trust Stella completely. I could drink the marinade on its own. I served it with farro and a salad.
Hi Amy, Yay! Thank you for trusting me and I’m SO glad the recipe was a win for you! Cheers!
Stella, I just need lemons this looks so yummy! 😋
YOu’re going to love it Jan!!!!
I made this exactly how it calls and my family really enjoyed. I will definitely make it again.
Hi Lacey, Glad you tried it and everyone enjoyed the chicken! Cheers!
This recipe is so simple yet packs a punch when it comes to flavor. I had an instinct to make more of the sauce and I’m so glad I did–I covered the chicken in it! Definitely will be in the regular rotation.
Glad you enjoyed the recipe! thanks for the kind feedback!
Can i do this with chickenbreast?
Thanks

Absolutely yes!
Love it! 😁
Hi Elena, I’m so glad you enjoyed the recipe!
Hello If I don’t have parmesan cheese what do I substitute? Please let me know I want to try the recipe tomorrow
Easy to make and delicious
thanks for the kind message Julie!
Hi am going to use 12 skinless chicken halfs should i double the recipe 1st timer help Please and would it be better cooked in oven of air fryer thanks
Hi Lena, What is a chicken half? Breasts? Wings? Yes you probably should double the marinade recipe. If you run out for the sauce – just make more when you’re ready to eat the chicken.
I would do either one – less time in the air fryer…so watch them and always use a meat thermometer! Enjoy!!
