Viral La Scala Chopped Salad
This is a viral recipe I found on TikTok that looked absolutely delicious and simple to make. My two weaknesses in life. The videos I found online referenced the Kardashians and therefore I mentioned them in my video too. I’m definitely happy I tried this dish and would recommend it to anyone.
If you like this salad, you will love my Italian Chopped Salad or my 1905 Columbia’s Salad. Both of these dishes eliminate cooking and all you have to do is whisk and chop to prepare.
One of the my favorite parts of this salad is that you marinate the chickpeas in the dressing and then use them to create a salad mold mountain of sorts. Looks beautiful for presentation and its something different to try!

- 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped thin
- 4 oz salami slices, cut into small strips
- 8 oz marinated artichoke hearts, halved
- 1/3 cup sundried tomatoes, sliced

Dressing:
- Whisk together the first 5 dressing ingredients, taste and adjust anything if needed. THEN, mix in the parmesan cheese.
Salad:
- Grab the chickpeas and marinate in 1/3 of the dressing.
- In a large bowl, toss the lettuce, salami, artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes and mozzarella with the remaining 2/3 of the dressing.
- Grab a small bowl and drop 1/4 of the chickpeas on the bottom. Top it with salad and pack it down tight. Flip the bowl over onto a plate and serve with a little extra grated parmesan and fresh cracked black pepper.
I love the salad, I can’t eat tomatoes so I left them out ,I think it was just as good with out them
HI Sara, Thanks for trying out the recipe! Sounds great even without the tomatoes!

Am I reading something wrong? It says to put 1/4 of the chick peas on a plate, what about the rest of them?
Hi Val, You add them to the salad!
Had my first Leon chopped salad decades ago at La Scala, long before the Kardashians were heard of. As far as Debra’s comment about the olive oil, it is important to use a very good extra virgin Italian olive oil. I like to use lemon and red wine vinegar in the proper proportions.
Love, love, love this salad 🤤
Absolutely delicious
The best! I used pepperoni because I had no salami. That was outstanding, too.
Great salad when you want to try something a little different.
With the nutrition facts is that based on PER SERVING?
I was wondering the same thing about the amt of carbohydrates per serving. 46 grams per serving seems a lot.
Amazing salad. My hubby even ate it for dinner and loved it!!
Easy & delish! Very satisfying. My husband loved it and he’s picky
Hi Dolly, I’m glad the recipe was to your liking!
This lives up to the hype! Not a fan of the Kardashian’s, but this salad is POPPIN’! I can see why they like it so much – the flavors mix together so divinely! Definitely adding this to the rotation of faves ❤️
Hi Lizzy, glad you tried it and liked it! Thanks for the review and feedback!
Really delicious- I added some onion & garlic powder to the dressing & some Kalamata olives to the salad. It was a big hit!!!
Hi Anne, its definitely an awesome combination! Thanks for the kind rating!
I made this and my artichoke and chickpea hating partner loved it too. I added a little garlic to the dressing, used maple instead of honey, and threw in some white onion and peperoncini. Super tasty!
Hi Sara, Sounds delicious with your add ins – thanks for sharing with everyone!
By far, one of my favorite salads now!
Hi Ashley, so glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the rating!
